I can't at people even knowing MTN more than Applause + DWUW in some places :wtf:

I'd go as far as to say the US knows about App + DWUW more than MTN, Judas, You & I, and Alejandro here.

Gaga should've handled the BTW era better and/or promoted here for the ARTPOP era :classy: Applause could've easily smashed here if, for example, the KIA commercial was aired here.

I see Pitbull has a #1 single while his album is #115. (selling 220 000 in 42 weeks  :worship: )

Funny how no media at all is reporting this, while Gaga had a #1 album at 638k yet we see loads of 'Gaga knows she did bad with ARTPOP' type of articles.

Well not to defend Pitbull, but I think that he never sold well with an album, he had some hits but he never be relevant respect a superstar like Gaga that sold a lot with her previous works, this is why people make comparisions..

By the way it's really sad that at the end in this era we always finish to remember what her previous singles did, we are in the middle of an era and for now we don't have nothing to talk about. I am feeling like they abandoned the project...

Album sales will be a disaster in the next weeks.

I just always thought that BTW was the era that really definded who are the real Gaga fans and who are not .... guess we all had it wrong cuz in the end ARTPOP will be the album that will clean the fake from the real ones  :fan:

The BTW era turned away massive amounts of casual fans and narrowed her fanbase down to a targeted demo. The ARTPOP era started out on shaky ground due to the BTW era. The opening sales and the lack of general excitement for both the album and the debut single this era had a lot to do with the era before.

Yeah, it seems so. But it also seems like she's only narrowing that fanbase further, by trying to appeal to everybody and nobody and forgetting your current fans sometimes. Applause did great in the US, Canada and Japan. DWUW did great in Canada. But it seems like Applause/DWUW underperforming only hurt Gaga in Europe/Australia and that her next singles of this era won't even get the chance.

It does seem like they abandoned the project so far. She still has her top secret ARTPOP folder but still.. if we don't get a third single than yes it's over. Only the tour will bring positive things starting in May,

Talking about my own floppy country. Here, TeoG peaked at #36. MTN is better-known than Applause because it was performed at the EMAs, nominated for video of the year EMA, was used for a bit in the HBO special and because Gaga was a big star back then.

Kinda the same here.

BTW -> smash

Judas -> flop that everybody knows

TeoG -> flop that everybody knows

Yoü and I -> flop that lots of people know

Marry the Night -> flop that most people know

Applause -> flop that not a lot of people know

DWUW -> flop that nobody knows

:gum:

So excited for the jazz album. It could really do wonders for Gaga

here in Breda quiet a lot of people know DWUW without a even having a video ..

I don't know, but I'd prefer them to wait a week or two for the next single. She's only had like 3 days of negative updates now, wouldn't want another song blocking the other song from growing. I'm okay with the third single being sent to AC/HAC radio right now though, because they would help the song peak higher, get a higher iTunes position, push album sales and not make DWUW die on Pop/Rhythmic radio just yet, where it's still strong.

I think they are waiting until after the Grammy week boost. That impact will last for a week or two and then things will settle back to normal.

I can't imagine them sending a Gaga song to HAC first. That's something labels do when they are trying to get some leverage with unknown or unpopular artists. She's had two top 10 pop hits in a row and has had very good radio support thus far. Sending a song to HAC only at first sends the wrong message. It's Lady Gaga, she is a pop artist with two hits this era and multiple past hits. She doesn't need to sneak in through the back door! For a pop artist like Gaga, you send her songs straight to pop radio first thing!

Let's see...

I have hopes for the Act II at this point... But the point is, when is she gonna launch the third single? Time is running and the sales are becoming low, and we still have no idea of what will happen. I still don't accept the DWUW video mess.

She had a big hit on her hand. :noparty:

I don't know what is up with Australia, but Europe was on board with DWUW and she is still selling albums in parts of Europe.. There is no reason for the third single to not have a chance WW (except for Australia) after DWUW.

They waited too much at this point, they can't waste time anymore, every month or week there will be always something, in two weeks maybe we're gonna have a new Adele single, so they're gonna wait again? It seems that Gaga can release something only when there is nobody around.. At the end of November a lot people said that it was better wait January because the freeze, now that we are at the end of January, 2 weeks after the Grammys, it's really too much, people are forgetting that there is an album out and the sales speak for themselves.
