I think that was because of the demanding Interscope (and fans too) that want commercial songs. ARTPOP was supposed to be 'the sound of the future' with '2030 shizz' in which they 'didnt care about song lengths', etc I doubt Donatella, Fashion, Applause and DWUW would've even been on the album had it been up to Gaga. The album was supposed to be full of EDM masterpieces in which she and producers Zedd, Madeon and DJWS push the boundaries of dance music. At least, that's what they hyped. Of course, she's the Queen of overhyping and her team is even worse when it comes to this ('you'll pee your pants when you hear the lead single', Tara said summer 2012 ), but I really think that Interscope had a huge impact on the album. Compare Swine (Swinefest version) to Swine (album version). i honestly think that TEA is an experimental track i hope we get it on Act II along with Onion girl, Brooklyn Nights, Temple, and Tinnitus Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Posted January 21, 2014 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Only releasing Applause & DWUW from ARTPOP would be a big disappointment. At least release three singles, stopping now would be a waste imo. If she wants to release Act II around the start of the tour, I think she should release Venus or Gypsy or whatever the third single is by the first week of February & have the first single from Act II released a week before the tour. She can perform Act II songs in the show (kinda giving us a taste of the album before the studio versions like Swine Fest) & have the album be released about a month into the tour. I think that'd create a lot of hype for the show too. Regardless, ARTPOP deserves at least three singles. I think the video could be announced/ released, and a Grammys performance could be announced.
