Well Do What U Want has officially become huge in Canada.. A lot of people I know are talking about "Lady Gaga's new song"! Glad it's doing so well here!

I wonder what's going on with the video, and also Gaga's recent lack of tweets. Will we ever find out what went on behind the scenes..

That's great!

I love when people tell me they like Applause or DWUW

Well... TEOG had the opportunity to be a #1 with a good video, but DWUW wasn't doing as well as TEOG pre-video. Also, without banners the video wouldn't create much of a sales boost anyway.

you can´t compare the competition that TEOG face it with DWUW´s though..I mean by the time TEOG reached its peak ET and RITD were huge..It couldn´t be #1 anyway, DWYW on the other hand could be # 1 (i guess) if it had a video at the right time.

no, it was competing with the monster and that song is huge just by the artist that are on it.

TEOG could have easily sold 250K+ with a solid video and it was already in the top 10. DWUW would have had to literally triple its sales to reach #1 on digital. It would never happen and even more so now seeing how videos have lost any major impact on a song's performance.

Exactly. There are far more huge singles right now, compared to mid 2011 when TEOG was released. Timber could get that #1 spot by the start of 2014 and who knows what could it do once it reaches the top. Counting Stars continues to climb as well. And I don't see it leaving the upper half of the top 10 anytime soon. And of course, there's Dark Horse which a televised performance at the GRAMMYs could seriously give KP her 9th HOT 100 #1.

The reason why I'm still rooting for the MV is because it could give DWUW a new peak, and hopefully that's within the top 10 of the HOT 100. But the probability of it going to top three, or let alone #1, is just extremely low or next to impossible. Not even a GRAMMY performance could make it happen, considering she has already performed it thrice in three of the biggest promotional platforms to push sales.

Well actually TEOG sold it in tis debut but wasn´t enought to reaching number one   :toofunny: ...I think by the time the video was released selling 250k+  wouldn´t be enough for that number one spot. Plus, globally the song was much promoted than DWUW

No one implied that they're bigger. But they're without a doubt the biggest sellers at the moment, which would imply that competition at the moment and for weeks (or even months) to come is really strong to an extent that it'd be impossible for DWUW to suddenly just shoot up to top three.

I think the only reason DWUW is not top 10 it´s bc it lost its momentum, but i had  so much faith that it could be one of her biggest hits.I agree that TEOG was doing a better job in pre-release video time though

If the video was released before The Monster impacted it could've been competing for number 1 stop. Wait im delusional but still.

I can't remember exactly what everyone was selling what weeks, but I just know RITD and ET spent some weeks over 300K. So basically you're saying that without banners and selling less than 1/3 the #1 song, DWUW had more of a chance shooting to #1 over a song that would have had to less than double its sales and benefit from banners. I'm sorry, but that is not logical.
