Sorry Gags, but if you wrote 100 songs and you chose songs like Donatella, MANiCURE, MJH, Jewels 'n Drugs and Fashion! as the best lyrically/melodically, I think there's a problem with your songwriting. Adele wrote 12 songs for 21, and 21 has 12 songs on it. Not getting my hopes up for Act II. I want her to either go writing true timeless pop hits that will smash and that this fanbase loves, such as TeoG, Judas (the chorus - catchiness etc, not the lyrics), Bad Romance and Monster. I wouldn't mind if she had to go back with RedOne for that, they created magic together before - just because he's a good producer of generic pop songs, doesn't mean that he can create things innovative for their time such as Poker Face, Bad Romance and Judas. If she doesn't go dance electronic pop without a set theme, and just lets the lyrics come to her and doesn't think like "yeah I created this in 15 minutes, I'm not allowed to change it so I can brag I wrote it in 15 minutes!!" or "I must write songs about this subject!", I'd want her to do songs like Bloody Mary or ARTPOP. Her songwriting on ARTPOP seems so forced tbh. Write about experiences Gaga, that's what you're best in. Sexxx Dreams is probably the best song lyrically on ARTPOP. ARTPOP too, but that song is kinda forced and too complicated. Aura seems kinda forced songwriting too in my opinion. But yeah, her songs about experiences usually are the best lyrically relatable in my opinion. Bloody Mary, ARTPOP and Aura are gems lyrically too, but you need 100 listens and you need to listen to all of her interviews and see all the performances to actually get it. Venus, GUY, MJH, Donatella, Fashion, Gypsy and a few other things just don't have "it". Gaga's making it even worse by not even doing or saying anything. Well, it's not a lotus/bionic/britney jean sized disaster. The underperforming 2nd single is just making things seem worse. If things don't get back on track with the next singles then yeah, it'd be a disaster. But I agree with you when you say it's not being handled well. The fact that Imagine Dragons and Lana are discounted by interscope and Gaga is not is just so annoying. I mean, out of ALL weeks, just discount this week at least. Oh and... 45.
