Without a video, DWUW is 23 on streaming songs. Applause is 21.

The video will really help streaming and not only the youtube streams, I mean that the song will become a lot more popular and therefore hopefully a lot more streams on Spotify etc..

Yes, she should really release it next week. She is top 20 on radio, top 25 on streaming and on demand songs, top 20 on digital and top 20 in a lot other countries. Now its the time to push it.

Completeness in terms of taking all indicators of what's "hot" at the moment, yeah, I agree with that. But honesty in terms of it being fair and firm? Not quite or not at all. For the past years alone, there have been a lot of "bending" of some sort arguably made to ensure one to be a chart-topper and for others to be not.

One More Night stayed for so long at the top of the HOT 100 chart with radio's very blatant reluctance against Gangnam Style. Months later, Billboard introduced a new rule of factoring streaming to its system which caused for Harlem Shake to debut at #1, with little airplay or whatsoever. Have it not for that "bending" of the rules, Thrift Shop would have spent more weeks at the top.

Though I believe that the current system is the best representation of music popularity right now, the mere fact that they changed "rules" a handful of times makes it hard for them to be viewed as "honestly fair" if we take into account all of the past songs which failed to hit that #1 spot simply because the decision-makers in Billboard suddenly have a change of heart.

Yes I agree that it's not completely fair and objective. I meant that it's formula is much more relevant than a usual digital, sales or airplay chart.
