bumblebee 2,528
Selling 400k would be a disaster - huge decline in roughly 670k hardcore fans that bought BTW week 1. It would show pop album market is so dead, that Katy's singles superiority (if it continues) might be worth more, and Gaga's attempt to focus on the complete album didn't pay off. I'm expecting 540-570 (a 15-20% decline from 670 full-price paying BTW buyers). It's unreasonable to pay that much attention to the opening week: with Born This Way she had the biggest debut and selling week in her career and yet the album stopped really far from The Fame. Even if we take The Fame sales as a half from (The Fame+The Fame Monster) total sales, her debut album probably sold about 3,000,000 copies all alone. Born This Way is at 2,300,000 despite her riding the wave of success and crazy promotion. It's scary to think 20% of Born This Way total US sales are contributed by the $0.99 deal. Yet the album enjoyed 670,000 full price debut and 440,000 through Amazon-99. The big debut doesn't make any sense as well as judging Gaga's "attempt" to focus on the complete album by one debut week.
Bitter 3,640
I think it's a lot. But we will see. yup, my irrelevant estimation is 410k.
FireBling 0
Just so you know. BTW didnt had a single top 10 when the album was released. Magoo said that the preorders were 120k only on Itunes. And surely more people will buy it in the first week. So lets say she will sell 200k on Itunes. Itunes usually has 1/3 of total sales. The 375k prediction doesnt make any sense at the moment, with the album beeing so high on Amazon. What? She wont sell nothing through regular retailers? Amazon only accounts for a very small potion of album sales market share. iTunes and in-store sales are the biggest factors.

Nick 29
I can't at musicOMH.com throwing a wrench into ARTPOP's metacritic score! A 40 are you serious :grr:
Snowyrain 38
I think album will be okay ! DWUW is the type of song that sells the album. If DWUW slays which it will (i hope ) ARTPOP will have a longevity. First week sales are not important. I can see her selling 2M in the end.

A 40 are you serious :grr: I think they are trolls or they don't like Gaga. It is the only explanation. u are right, it's passed a lot of songs, as of today it's airplay is LORDE – Royals: 226.686 (- 0.921) the list posted is from several weeks back. Well this is mediabase numbers. But Billboard use Nielsen numbers. So this equals 172M in Billboard
What is OBAMA 0
i wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being her WORST reviwed album on metacritic the title makes the reviwers take it too seriously, if this album had another name, it would be end up around mid 70s scores, but with this i can't be sure of wether it will end up over 70 or not, the title and the music make the reviewers have a wrong idea of the concept and the final product

More than in the past or in Europe. Increasing percentage of an album's total sales are made then. Most established stars maintain similar opening week numbers from album to album (from Drake down to Rihanna). When they slip its hard to make them up later in an era. I'm taking 670k as the core opening week fanbase she can't afford to lose in large numbers. (The 99 cent folks might have bought the album later or just bought singles.)
