Smooth Criminal 2 Posted October 26, 2013 Share Posted October 26, 2013 Yeah, from what I understand, YouTube can scan the audio of a video that has been uploaded and automatically match it to their copyrighted songs databases and if it finds a match, it will block it either Worldwide or in the appropriate countries where it is meant to be blocked. This is why you'll often see videos of people uploading songs that have changed the pitch or speed of the song in order to bypass the automatic filter. So it looks like UMG has Venus in its database, possibly in order to help prevent a leak of the song, and the uploaded snippet has matched that content and has been automatically blocked worldwide. So now they're trying to get either YouTube or UMG (or whoever is responsible) to get the video unblocked. OOOOOhhhhh. Now I get it. Thanks.
