Someone answering a pressed Madonna stan, mentioned that Zombie Zombie credited Sun Ra in his song.

So he could be seen as covering the same sample.

Although they technically are using the same sample, it's a bit eerie how Gaga's & Zombie Zombie have similar melodies & tempo in their respective versions.

This **** is next level. It kills me when she sings, "I CAN'T HELP IF I KEEP ON DANCING."

I cannot wait to hear this. I wish the full song was out tonight though - sounds like a perfect Halloween dance party track.

Is anyone else getting vibes from The B-52's from VENUS? The vocals are very reminiscent of them, especially their song "53 Miles West of Venus"

You call this experimental?  Have you ever listened to 80s music or ABBA?  If anything it's a mixture of that.

I've listened to every ABBA song released and a fair few that weren't and I can't think of anything in their discography that sounds like this. They'd certainly never do the beat in the second snippet. The only thing I can think of is that it has tiered harmonies ("let's blast off to a new dimension" comes closest to the ABBA sound), but a song having harmonies doesn't make it similar to ABBA, especially since their harmonies are much more "unified" as opposed to these where you can clearly pick out what each line is. They also don't start the first verse with harmonies with maybe a few exceptions (If It Wasn't For The Nights comes to mind). Sonically, ABBA were always looking to fill all the space in their songs and these tracks are relatively sparse. They also were not big on synthesizers until Super Trouper, and the first snippet's beat is too 80s for ABBA (the closest they ever got to that type of beat was in Voulez-Vous). They "took a break" in 1982 and so were not influenced by future 80s trends. Their vocal style was never aggressive like in the second snippet. They would not have such a stark contrast between verse and bridge, either.

Can anyone seriously tell me what is making people say it's like ABBA? Because I'm a huge ABBA stan and I seriously don't understand the comparison at all.

It does sound like 80s music (but honestly everything Gaga makes sounds like it could belong in the 80s :flop:to an extent, but this song is definitely weird.

It is definitely 80's inspired but honestly i don't see ABBA i am a huge ABBA stan too, and i can't recall this sounding remotely like anything in their discography. anyway ABBA needs to release just like that/a new album (i mean agnetha did it why can't they all get back together) but enough about ABBA. Alejandro is the gaga song that is closely related to ABBA in terms of style and melodies.

Illuminati Freak

I have every single ABBA album and unreleased stuff by them and Venus reminds me nothing of ABBA. I don't get the comparison at all.
