That's what we thought about "Applause" as well.  :toofloppy:

And Applause was a solid hit.

Best dance song of it's era = weekend effect benefit.

Roar stood out more than Unc. Better lyrics too

Am I the only one who thinks Unconditionally is amazing? I hate Roar cause its so generic and basic. But c'mon guys you cant say Uncon. is 100% generic. Just the fact that its a ballad makes it kinda generic. Anyway, in my opinion its better than any single from TD !

Unconditionally is basic as ****  :laughga:  Typical pop-Katy-ballad!

Performing Venus at the Grammys would be a waste whether or not Venus is a hit. It will be long after its peak in every aspect (probably also radio). And even if Venus does last up until then, it'd be like throwing a bucket of water into a lake expecting to see a difference. The exposure it'll get on radio and youtube would have already reached its maximum potential sales.

I kinda agree with you, but at the same time I can't but remind you of her 2010 Grammy Performance, when she performed POKER FACE/SPEECHLESS, while having BAD ROMANCE on the radio and TELEPHONE coming up. I know the situation was very different: she was covered by huge viral and media exposure, she was nominated for 5 Grammys including AOTYm and so on... But it just proves that if the upcoming single is strong enough musically it doesn't necessarily need big promo performance. I might be mistaking, but I don't remember her performing TELEPHONE anywhere at the USA TV, and the record did well. If the performance is cool and does a lot for the album, and in case the third single is strong enough to take off by its own power, then I don't mind her performing VENUS. I just don't want the biggest promo spot for it to be the Muppets Show  :derpga:

A Grammy performance will be crucial in catapulting the 3rd single up itunes charts, thus radio charts. It'll need it because it'll be a post-album release single. It won't have the benefit of fans sending it to the top 10 on itunes.

Again, the performance can be crucial, but if the 3rd single itself is so good that it will climb the radio and get to the top of iTunes by its own power, we might not see it performed at the Grammys. It just might take more time, but it's OK since we're aiming longevity.  ALEJANDRO took a lot of time while climbing up the charts, and yet provided us with the memorable video and nice chart run.

I'm probably going to listen to DWUW all week, on repeat, and then, Venus, and then Dope and THEEEEEEEEN = ARTPOP!
