Paris Jackson is asking her late father Michael Jackson’s estate to release $600 million to a family trust meant to benefit her and her two brothers, arguing that they have waited more than 17 years for the trust to be funded.

In a new court filing, Paris, 28, said the estate has generated billions of dollars since the King of Pop’s death in 2009, but the trust intended to provide for his children has yet to receive its funding. She is asking a Los Angeles judge to order a partial distribution of the estate’s assets to the Michael Jackson Family Trust, according to documents filed Oct. 29 and reviewed by PEOPLE.

The trust was established to provide for Michael’s three children, Prince, 29, Paris and Bigi, 24. Under its terms, the siblings were supposed to begin receiving income from their respective shares when they turned 21. They were also meant to begin receiving portions of the money held for them at age 30, with additional distributions at 35 and 40, according to the filing.

Paris claims those arrangements have not happened as her father intended.

“More than seventeen years after his passing, Michael Jackson’s family trust remains unfunded,” the petition states.

The filing points out that Prince is approaching his 30th birthday, while Paris turns 29 in April and Bigi turns 25 in February. Paris argues that the lack of funding has left the siblings dependent on the estate’s remaining executor, John Branca, to determine when and how much money they receive.

Probably not the popular opinion but, they don’t even need that money because they’re alive and living fulfilling lives with little to no working class jobs at all. They can make that money and probably more off of Michael’s name alone.

They don’t need the money, they just want it. They could easily release the money into public funds for anything, build schools and bridges in his name, found a record label, create a memorial made of literal platinum and gold; they’d never miss it.

I’m sorry, but what an incredibly ridiculous take. That is THEIR FATHER! THEIR DAD? Not some random celebrity whose fortune they’re trying to get their hands on.

Michael Jackson was the world’s entertainer, but he was THEIR father first. Whether his children are financially comfortable is completely irrelevant to what he intended to leave them.

Who exactly are you to suggest they should build schools, bridges, or memorials instead?

It’s their father’s inheritance, not a public GoFundMe for your philanthropic fantasies. Even if they “just want it”, that’s FINE too! The audacity is astounding…:iamfair:

Well, his kids are very much like Michael himself in that they do a ton of charity work and give a lot to charity.

Prince even has his own foundation for educating and uplifting inner city kids in Los Angeles modeled after Michael's Heal the World Foundation.

He raised them right, they're not the type to ask for a hand out and just be rich :laughga:

But even if that's what they wanted to do, that's their inheritance. It's literally, legally, their money.

Whimsical bitch

1. I mean it's the family money and he intended for his kids to get it so wtf is the hold up?

2. there's no way it's called 'Hee Hee Estates' :air:

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
