swooning 444
Well, her s-xualisation of the burqa for one. Not exactly racist, but it still shouldn't be tolerated. And G**** references a racial slur throughout the entire song. It's a racist song and it's the only song by Gaga that I've actually deleted from my iTunes. paganpoetry 155
I wanted to point out that the tracklist is designed very carefully. Aura and Venus (Track 1 & 2) are in F minor, G.U.Y and Sexxx Dreams (Track 3 & 4) are in C minor, MANiCURE and Do What U Want (6 and 7) are in F# minor and finally, Fashion! and Mary Jane Holland (11 & 12) are in E minor. It's like they're in sections in pairs and then the story that MJH and Dope tell together is another. It makes the whole album feel like puzzle pieces put together. Correct me if I'm wrong ^-^ BJORK MELANIE HALSEY BEYONCE NICKI GAGA KERLI IIRIS IMOGEN TROYE SHINEE EXO F(X)

I think I'm done with her... ok then...bye? there are plenty of words used in pop music that are MUCH, MUCH worse - and you're being incredibly harsh. the word has many definitions and the song clearly refers to "a nomadic or free-spirited person" there is nothing racist about the song itself, honey. fleetwood mac has a song with the same name, one of the most popular songs from the early 80s, so that must be racist too, right? dc1993 1
Well, her s-xualisation of the burqa for one. Not exactly racist, but it still shouldn't be tolerated. And G**** references a racial slur throughout the entire song. It's a racist song and it's the only song by Gaga that I've actually deleted from my iTunes. 'Gipsy/gipsy' is a common word used to indicate Romani people, Tinkers and Travellers, and use of the word "Gipsy" in English is so pervasive (and is a legal term under English lawâ€â€see below) that many Romani organizations use it in their own organizational names. However, many Romani people and academics who study them believe the word has been tainted by its use as a pejorative connoting illegality and irregularity,[21][22][23][24][25][26][27] and some modern dictionaries recommend avoiding use of the word gypsy either entirely, or as a negative modifier.[28][29][30][31][32][33] It's perceived racist by some Romani people, and not racist by other Romani people. It's fine that you find it to be offensive and avoid the word, but obviously this is not the case for the majority of people here - and Gaga certainly had no racist intention behind her writing of the song. But you might also want to delete Scheisse from your iTunes. Gaga abusing the language of the people from G.O.A.T for a pop song is simply unforgivable imo

Rollercoaster 2
.Well, her s-xualisation of the burqa for one. It's a racist song and it's the only song by Gaga that I've actually deleted from my iTunes. Just because a word can refer to a group of people it doesn't make it a racial slur. The stupidest part of your comment is the word "racial" because strictly speaking a gypsy isn't a race at all. There are sects of races that are gypsies and parts of different cultures that are gypsies... that in itself stops gypsies being a race. Who's she slurring? Irish? Romanians? which one? Then the word slur. Look it up. "I'm a gypsy" she must really hate herself. Then the fact that, living in the UK you should already know this. Channel 4 regularly broadcast shows with gypsy in the title. For reference, their race is caucasian, their nationality usually Irish and their lifestyle gypsy. Is this really how children of the pc age are growing up? Overly offended and sensitive with no basis or common sense? I weep. edit: as for s-xualisation of the burqa... she doesn't. She's asking the listener why they want the burqa removed so much. Metaphorical use of the burqa to mean "veil" that the true personality is behind. And actually, the burqa isn't even a religious garment. It's worn by choice. Most Muslim women don't wear it. Is she s-xualising curtains and auras too? Ridiculous. Galactic Mess 1,393
No. She is american, had very few contact with european history and words have different meanings in different contexts. Please read the lyrics of the song before criticizing it. There's nothing offensively about them. That is the dumbest ****ing thing I've ever heard. It's a racial slur. Gaga made a racist blip.
