After hundred and hundred of Applause listen, here's my final verdit : I love it, I love how Applause is a typical pop sounds with just a little twist and art touch. The art references in the lyrics, that Warhol way of singing the verse makes it just better. It is a grower for sure. I love the way she balance typical pop element (the bubbly chorus and the dance buildup) with completely different verse. If the goal of ARTPOP is the reverse Warholian experience (instead of make art with pop culture, she puts arts in pop culture), this is a brilliant way to start IMO. And the song seems to generally be accepted by the audience and radios because, unlike Judas for example, she succeeded to balance pop and other genre (rock/metal with Judas for example).
