ARTPOP has been on sale longer and had a spike in sales from the itunes concert. If you look on US itunes they're pretty even.

The fact that it's on sale longer doesn't mean much when it comes to pre-orders. It's not like you expect a pre-order to stay in the top ten for months. Generally, you expect lots of fans ordering it for 1-2 weeks when it first comes out and then basically fall flat until the album is released. The fact that they are around the same position right now when Katy's has been out for less than two weeks and has a #1 song associated with it is pretty strange, but I definitely won't jump the gun on anything yet.

ARTPOP was already vastly outdoing PRISM even before the concert too, especially WW.

I think 45k is good, especially with no official tracklist and no cover.

I predict 400k minimum for the album....but it's hard to predict actually. Applause could die soon (or not), the second single could be a smash (or not), etc.

Also Gaga is doing heavy promo when her albums her released, when Born This Way was released her promo schedule was insane.

...and I still think she'll be #1 and Eminem will fall to #2 :)

I agree. I feel pretty confident now that she'll beat his second week. Just look at how Berzerk is dropping. I'm not sure she'll beat Prism first week though

.

I think the next single will be s-x dreams and Id be surprised if that doesn't do better than Applause. Shes hosting snl too. And Swinefest convinced me the album will be good too so I do think there ispotential for her to sell a lot, a lot more than I thought a week ago.

But ARTPOP hasn't been out 3x longer than Prism?

No it hasn't been 3 weeks, but it did have the concert and that added a lot of sales. I don't know I'm asking.

I agree WW it definitely is doing better. Its been number one and Prism hasn't and its consistently higher in the WW chart.

You're right you'd expect ARTPOP to be lower now on US itunes, but like I said Katy hasn't had her concert yet.

I don't think ARTPOP's numbers (in the HDD write up) were before the concert, I think they include Sunday night after it.

So Gaga is performing on GMA? Not sure that will help much cause she was just there. SNL will have a bigger impact but that's not for a while. She should focus on radio. Radio is showing signs of picking it up but I feel by the time it peaks she will have a second single out which will just kill applause's success.

Britney and performing/promo :lmao:

It's harder to lipsync now that we have HD...

Berserk at dark red but so is Applause

No one expects Britney to sing live tho. Her live vocals are like Santa Claus, only little children believe in it

Bastille's debut album, Bad Blood, is projected to move around 30K in its first week. It's currently at #5 in iTunes. Hoping they'd be received well eventually, at least similar on how they're doing in the UK. Pompeii needs to be a hit.

Anyway, with both Britney and Katy possibly releasing on the 17th, we'll have another window to see and gauge how huge KP's pull truly is on this era. I'm predicting a top five entry for Britney's upcoming single.
