Like I said. It's going to be interesting to see how Katy performs this era.

However she performs, I believe we won't be able to really judge her comeback until her second single arrives. I say this because radio will eat up any kind of Katy return, whether she performs well or poorly with it. I think the second single is where we will see her continue success or fall short.

Audience

But spins affect the Audience so yeah

So I guess people will be also over with Katy like how they did with Kesha.

Her album sales might struggle also. Dr. Luke never learns.

Ke$ha is not a priority at her record label, Katy is. Katy will have a better marketing rollout - we've already seen it with the gold truck.

Ke$ha also never had an era as big as Teenage Dream and doesn't have as broad of an audience as Katy.

Hello everyone! I was on vacation so I haven't posted for the past 2 weeks but I'm back now and ready to track the new single with y'all and talk about some charts!

I know the single is still a few days away so I think it's safe to comment on some things I've observed over the past few weeks and some questions I have.

1. I originally doubted Applause's chances at #1 but with the video debuting on the same day as the song, I think it's guaranteed. All the sales, airplay, and streaming will just be INSANE so it's going to happen.

2. Britney went to the Smurfs premiere a few days back and hinted at seeing Katy in Vegas for what will most likely be the iHeart Radio Music Festival. As I previously said, this might be to announce her residency and possibly a new single and album. So she's definitely coming in September with a new song and Dec. 2, 2013 will most likely be the release date for Feed The Wolves [as some fans like to call the album, not the actual name!].

3. I'm not too interested in Katy's new song aside from it's chart performance. It seems like it's going to be pop-rock and I'm not too fond of that and I don't really know how a global audience outside the US will react to that kind of genre. It's safe to say she's no threat to Gaga.

4. Baby I's debut was weaker that I expected. 141K and a #21 debut.

Questions I have:

1. How much did 1D's song debut with? I know it peaked at #2 but I don't know the sales.

2. How much did Blurred Lines debut with?

3. Is the song still at #1 and what are its latest sales figures?

Thank You in advance for answering the questions! :awesome:

400K STILL? :rip: I thought it would of died down. Dear God.

Oh well. Still Gaga has that #1 on lock. I also saw that it was deleted from iTunes for a while a few days ago. I bet Interscope will work their magic again. :teehee:

I see the album exceeded predictions. Good for him! It'd be quite embarassing seeing as how big the song was when the album came out.

1D's #'s are disappointing but they;ve never been single sellers. BUT I'm glad to see that with a mere 322K one can manage a #2 debut. If that's the case, assuming that all the pop girls can scan over 400K with their upcoming singles [Gaga, Katy, Britney], which is WELL within the realm of possibility especially for Gaga, then a #1 is likely. I didn't think Britney could even debut in the top 5 with the new rules, but I guess she can!

Blurred Lines won't sell over 400k this week for sure. The gap between 1 and 2 on Kworb isn't as bad as it was last week.

I'm glad! It's dying down and I think 2 releases by big pop stars in the next 2 weeks will further induce its decline.
