He could make sense in a commercial side, trying to attract young girls with his clothes and looks, but he doesn't in an artistic way. Nor did Michael Jackson, or Madonna. They had something to actually contribute to the world, unlike Bieber. However, he turned into a dick and i think people have valid reasons for not liking him. Also i dont believe the reason he acts the way he does now is because of all the hate he received. Boybands were much hated as loved back in the 90s and 2000s, and still are as polarizing (see One Direction), probably because as their target are little girls, the majority of their work is extremely cozy and bubblegumy, and has no substance attached to it. "No real music", just something for the teens to bop and fangirl. In case of Bieber he got a really big fanbase and, consenquently, a really big "haterbase". The sad thing is, his music went more mature and enjoyable (Believe trully has some really good pop songs), but he became a jackass in the process.
