It was a superb tour, it made the Monsterball look boring, yet it was also wonderful, so that just shows how good it really was. I went to both :) Btw there is some questioning around MDNA's actual tour gross, in that it may not be as high as her team reported, this was revealed by actual ticket sales, no actual 'sold out' dates and many empty seats. Lets not get into that mess though :)

And we have got a DVD from the Monster Ball but not from the Born This Way Ball

Hamilton actually costed less than The Monster Ball in Buffalo and Toronto was less than The Monster Ball dates in Toronto.

Well, the Buffalo 2011 (the closest city to Hamilton) gross was $1,580,602 and in my calculations, Hamilton only counts for $1M so at the moment it doesn't alter anything.

I guess Sofia, Bucharest and Nice would have been in the original venues had ticket sales been adequate to keep them there. The premise is a bit like saying "had she done 4 nights at Twickenham she would have grossed X" when the reality is the 3rd & 4th shows would have been mostly empty. Clearly they expected to sell the tickets but didn't, and it's pretty impossible to imagine they would have moved the shows to smaller venues had sales been enough to remain at the larger ones.

With Jakarta in the game and Sofia, Bucharest and Nice in their original venues (all 4 dates were stadiums) I daresay the final gross would be close to $250M - sounds neat (as in well organised), and probably what they originally aimed for when planning the tour. That means that with the actual final gross ($180M), the tour only grossed around 70% of what I imagine it was intended to. I'm not going to mention the LA discounts.

Exactly, I agree. My aim here was to highlight how much they probably thought they'd gross, back in an LA board room in 2011. ;)
