PROOF: BTWB was on track to $230M~, in Top 20 highest grossing tours

I'm still mourning the loss of box scores for the last month of the BTWB dates, and the cancelled dates. Had the tour not been cancelled, I believe it would have outgrossed TMB - reaching around $220M in actual ticket gross, with an additional (merch?) mark up, like the Madonna's $7M with the MDNA tour (taking it from $298 to $305M). I've calculated the cancelled + unreported dates below, giving each show not reported for the MB either a safe $1,000,000 (which is actually less than her average NA arena ticket gross, so it's safe to see it would easily be higher).

Asia - $43,910,405
Oceania - $27,387,784
Europe - $51,338,349
Latin America - $26,151,188
South Africa - $5,556,153
Europe II  - $7,205,971
North America (reported) - $6,439,633

Los Angeles -  $3,394,380 (according to MB)
Phoenix - $1,386,115 (according to MB)
Las Vegas - $3,425,652 (according to MB)
Dallas - $1,444,830 (according to MB)
Houston - $1,401,300 (according to MB)
St Louis - $1,000,000 (???)
Kansas City - $1,000,000 (???)
St Paul - $1,000,000 (???)
Toronto - $3,774,170 (according to MB)
Montreal - $1,765,492 (according to MB)

End actual performed dates. Total gross = $187M - 23rd highest grossing tour (excl. markup, etc.)

Chicago - $3,602,914 (according to MB)
Detroit - $1,000,000 (???)

Hamilton - $1,000,000 (???)
Philadelphia - $2,000,000 (???) NB: Would certainly stand at $3M+, but I have to be safe + fair
New York + Brooklyn - $6,636,027 (according to MB)
Washington DC - $1,617,578 (according to MB)
Boston - $1,525,663 (according to MB)
University Park - $1,717,365 (according to MB) NB: Atlantic City box score
Uncasville - $1,000,000 (???)
Nashville - $1,485,607 (according to MB)
Atlanta - $1,173,392 (according to MB)
Tampa - $1,506,017 (according to MB)
Fort Lauderdale - $1,442,679 (according to MB)
Miami -  $1,573,090 (according to MB)
Greensboro - $1,000,000 (???)
Tulsa - $1,332,897 (according to MB)

Total Gross = $217M (I've begrudgingly left out the extra million mentioned for Philadelphia above, and the obvious $1M+ grossers that had no MB box scores)

Total Gross w/ MDNA Merch markup = $224M

Total Gross w/ +7% = $227M (cheated with this one, I've added this 7% assuming that all North American tickets were 7% more expensive as their previous MB predecessor - I've also added this as I feel strongly about the unreported MB dates being more than $1M :teehee:)

With Jakarta in the game and Sofia, Bucharest and Nice in their original venues (all 4 dates were stadiums) I daresay the final gross would be close to $250M - sounds neat (as in well organised), and probably what they originally aimed for when planning the tour. That means that with the actual final gross ($180M), the tour only grossed around 70% of what I imagine it was intended to. I'm not going to mention the LA discounts.

Please keep comments relevant, with no talk of how I'm a heartless bastard who only cares about gross. I'm actually just a bored guy on Sunday night with Monster Ball box scores in front of him. ;)

this is amazing, and as for me, it is one of the best tours! It is a shame the way it ended, but there's nothing we can do(or she) now, but we CAN prepare for ARTPOP as highest grossing tour OF ALL TIME lol

It's sad that it didn't it 200 million $, but I'm happy with the tour, it was the best of all time for me, so I don't care a lot about gross.

Btw, get ready for ARTPOP Ball Tour 2014-15

LORD GAGA

It was a superb tour, it made the Monsterball look boring, yet it was also wonderful, so that just shows how good it really was. I went to both :) Btw there is some questioning around MDNA's actual tour gross, in that it may not be as high as her team reported, this was revealed by actual ticket sales, no actual 'sold out' dates and many empty seats. Lets not get into that mess though :)

I'm quite satisfied with what the BTWB tour turned out to be. It still sold remarkably more compared with other mainstream artists (excluding Madonna).

not too bothered about the gross. There's a perfectly valid reason why it's final gross wasn't spectacular. But the Ball did achieve what Gaga set out to do: show that she's not going to be ****ed with; that she's so talented and creative; not afraid to experiment with technology and pushing boundaries; and most importantly, create a strong, and lasting bond with countries worldwide.
