US Charts Discussion - Track "Applause" here!

Remember to discount your cover! :ARTPOP:

It's not a horrible song, but I just don't think it's worthy of the title of one of the most successful songs of all time.

As a chart watcher I think it's necessary to detach oneself from the concept that particular songs are more "worthy" to chart highly than others or that the Billboard charts represent any song or album's artistic merit.  The chart game is fun but it doesn't say much about how music will be remembered in the long run.  BL is obviously "worthy" of its chart success because the right combination of circumstances came together to get it this far.

Wake Me Up will be a smash hit with longevity. Deal with it. The future is already written.

This coming from Nick?

We can expect it to drop after it's debut in the Top 10 :troll:

Get Lucky is the best pop song released this year imo and it's what I'm playing nonstop while waiting for ARTPOP. It deserves its success. :nails:

Thicke, Pharrell and T.I. have all released new singles since Blurred Lines so it'll begin to die.

It'd be perfect if We Can't Stop surpassed Blurred Lines so Katy could hit #1 and then get clocked by Applause and linger in the top 10.

#1's for all! :derpga:

I'm imagining this is what ITunes will look like on the 19th;

1.Applause - 1.0000000000

2. Blurred Lines - 0.47273838

3. Roar - 0.374839

4. WCS - 0.1838383737

I suck at this :laughga:
