I must say I'm surprised by Cher's performance.

A bit of a random thought, but I've grown to like the new Billboard rules including more streaming. We no longer have songs topping the charts for 10 weeks and a stagnant top 10. Last year's charts were really annoying... Radio should never be dominant.

Rihanna is always so confusing with putting out singles/videos. Is she promoting RN or PIU?

I agree! Plus, streaming is something that the person chooses to listen to VOLUNTARILY vs. radio which can shove a song down our throats if they wish. I think streaming is far more indicative of public taste and I'm glad it has a bigger role in charting singles now.

The only negative is cases like Harlem Shake, or Gentleman if it had caught on haha. With these rules, Gangnam Style would have been #1 for 20+ weeks. And I would seriously hate to see something like that happen.

But overall, I agree. I like it. I just don't like the fact we haven't really had any big names or good music dominating. I'm already done with this summer's radio selection, and have been hitting my CDs hard.

She isn't promoting anything. Her current single is "Right Now". She wanted to put out a video for PIU a long time ago, and RN will definitely have a music video

Yes, but those were kinda rare cases that I don't think will happen again, so for the most part, I'm satisfied with the rule and the effect that it has on the charts.

Cool, thanks Klou. It'd definitely be nice to see a rock song top BB hot 100. Don't see that too often and it totally deserves it since it has held on for this long.

It was all over Alternative and Rock radio first and was added to Pop radio most recently. It jumped ever since it entered the top 20 on Pop Radio.

I find it interesting that Can't Hold Us couldn't reach JGMAR's peak on radio. I thought for sure this would hit 200 million. Seems like Blurred Lines and Get Lucky kind of stole its thunder.
