Lets not do the most on Swift OR Gaga.

Not every single will be a mega-hit, whether it's '22' or 'Judas,' but regardless 'RED' and 'Born This Way' albums sold plenty. /end

Excuse my language for calling you a child, i have been saying that in ATRL

I'm surprised Taylor still hasn't crossed the 4M with Red and is now selling less a week than 21. It's kinda embarrassing how she's alienated her core demographic and now couldn't match her last record despite the hit singles. Begin Again did pretty badly on Country in comparison to the singles from SN so there's definitely the sense that they're turning away from her.

As I said in the fall, Red's jackrabbit sales start was more a sign of big artists having incresingly front loaded sales, than a real growth in her fanbase.  The flip side of that is big sales slowdowns after 6 months.

Digital music makes it easy for people to decide whether to buy or not. They didn't need 3 radio hit etc. Physical albums get pushed hard by big box retailers when they arrive, then fade away.

If she's alienated country fans, we won't have solid evidence until the next album.

The fact that her break-up song formula has made her a punchline isn't a good sign.

I feel like the Red era has defined Taylor as a media punching bag more than it has a cross-over pop star, but regardless, I think both are why she's losing fans. Radio country abandoned her, and apparently so did her country fans. People know her more as the girl who dates around and writes songs about her exes than they do her music. The 22 backlash is a perfect example - radio won't add it and people won't buy it, and this is sad because unlike a song like Marry The Night, 22 fits in perfectly on radio and sounds just like her past singles. It should've been an easy hit but wasn't.

I feel like this album did fine.  It'll be her next few albums to determine if she's going to be a dying fad or a longtime sales force in the music industry.

There are other streaming alservices in US as well! Proof: Rolling in The Deep is only 8x Platinum after selling more than like 7.7 million and has 400 million + views!

I hope you understand, and it's okay for calling me child and all! :kisses:

Glad to know that she was the most streamed artist even though she was competing agaisnt Adele, LMFAO and Katy Perry which had much bigger hits. Also #3 on airplay? Her A.I is relatively low so it's a surprising position.

Well, it's really NOT low, I know BTW peaked at #1 on radio and TEOG reached like #4. They just seem really low in comparison because of how inflated #'s have gotten since then. :rip:

They are not low, but they are relatively low comparing to other top 40 artists such as Bruno, Katy, LMFAO, Adele, JT, Rihanna etc.

BTW going #1 on radio while peaking at 109.8M is like HIAM going #1 while selling less than 1.6M.

Plus she had three radio flops (inb4 someone comes here and argues with me saying that Y&I wasnt a radio flop)

You and I: 65.121m

Judas 36.919m

Marry The Night: 35.648m

So yes, it's rather surprising.
