A couple reasons.

For one, the companies that make most anesthetics don't allow their drugs to be sold to prisons and used for lethal injections. Boycotts kinda dry up the market so they opt for tranquilizer drugs or sedatives instead.

And secondly, anesthesiologists take an oath to "do no harm" so they don't actually participate in executions. Because there's no expert in the room, there's no one to tell if the anesthesia has actually worked or not when they do use it. That's why it's estimated that so many are just paralyzed, not unconscious, when the killing drugs are administered and they asphyxiate and feel their insides burning from potassium chloride.

Yeah i watched about a rapist who was left paralyzed but conscious while the pitassium chloride was being administered through a vein in his thigh ... only the needle slipped out of the vein so he was left there for a very long time, immobile while the potadsium burned the **** out of his junk... and think that is also kind of karmic. (And extremely not okay. Hums are so fragile and they can't figure out a way to kill you peacefully?)

So at what point would this be deemed cruel and unusual punishment?

Because getting tortured with essentially poisonous injections, being left alive after that, and then waiting around for them to try yet again feels cruel and unusual.

I'm disgusted.

??? When did I say that ????

show me proof that HE wasn’t influenced by Christa.  Like I said for the 3rd time now- if Christa was never there, heee would’ve never killed Colleen..

we can't know that lol

He could have killed someone else and Colleen could have died in a car crash or COVID.

all this "if" talking is irrelevant and pointless.

It happened, end of story.

Google is your friend, there are enough articles that explains that he was not influenced by her, he planned it with her.. he had enough time to say stop to it. she may have the 'idea', but he helped expand it and create a plan to kill Colleen.

Yep.

At the end of the day.

The state of Tennessee and the supporters of the death penalty have shown themselves to be just as barbaric as they say she is. Because in their desire for "justice" they've sunk to her level.

wow how does it fail?

From what I was watching last night, speculation was that the IV was placed wrong. Which her attorneys said this when they requested a different method because of her small veins and blood clotting disorder.

No publicly confirmed information.

But the general belief of medical professionals asked questions by the press in the last few hours is that there is a high chance its caused brain damage.

Worth noting - this is the 2nd botched lethal injection based execution in the state this year.

This is also the 2nd lethal injection based execution the state has carried out this year.

The state has now suspended the remaining ones planned.

Great! So you agree!! That’s literally what I said at the beginning of this back and forth! That’s why she got the death sentence and he didn’t. Because she was the original mastermind and the sole motivator to kill Colleen, and he assisted!!!! How many time I gotta say it Jfc

Not yall having sympathy for this murderer. What she did to Colleen , she deserves to have done right back at her.  She tortured Colleen for over 45 minutes before she finally died.

why should Christa be protected from “cruel and unusual” punishment ??? Who the hell do u think she is?

That’s kinda the point . What goes around comes around.  You kill and torture someone, you’re gonna get it done to you too then.

Why do I feel like some of yall probably joked about Charlie Kirk’s death (who is an awful person) but now want to protect Christa (who is an awful person + murderer)
