Basically Disney original content (Disney+ Originals, Disney Channel Originals, backlogged Disney IP) will have ads before/after the content. But anything none Disney original/created (FX, Hulu, Marvel etc) may have ads during their content still no matter what tier you have now. Same goes for any live broadcasts they have.

Only having a Junior Profile stops you from seeing any ads at all, but restricts heavily what you can see by age and content.

They should be grateful they got people to turn away from it in the first place. They're taking the piss now

So what is the fcking point

Afaik prices have been going up and new amendments to their T&Cs because of 2 issues;

Streamers rely heavily on subscriber retention and acclamation. Meaning content must get new viewers and keep them. The minimum they want is 12 months from every subscriber. If they don’t hit those targets, in order to maintain the money to have the rights to the content they raise the prices to make up for lack of subscribers.

Another is third-party dealings, for example although Disney owns the RIGHTS to fox and their content. They also still have to deal with subsidiaries like FX for example, and as part of the FX terms with Disney, they may require them to give them so much as revenue per year. Meaning adding more ads into their content to make up for it.

Some companies even have minimum requirements for ad space. For example if a company pays Hulu to advertise its product, a clause in that contract may require them to advertise it in on-demand services too. Which is probably why Disney changed it, so companies will work more with them because they’ll assure them the ads will be run X amount of times to Y amounts of people.

Higher tiers allow you to stream in 4K and stream on multiple devices. The lowest tier now doesn’t support 4K or more than one device at a time.

To milk subscribers dry for limited catalogs of inferior quality. Also feel free to delete my above comment if it breaks the rules on piracy, I just can't hold my love for it in sometimes

I'm hoping there comes a day when advertising gets much more regulated. The moment I realize any content is an ad anywhere I tune out because everything you do has ads nowadays. 10 years ago I would have been hard pressed to not justify ad free tiers. Nowadays I'm not even consuming enough of any media to justify paying for it, much less pay to watch ads.

Buy physical media, y'all!

You say this while the optical disk drive market is collapsing with signalling that Xbox and Playstation plan to move away from disk drives. They're the main customers of optical drives. And Sony is also signalling a move away from Blu Ray production.
