AI is here to stay - it will change humanity as we know it and future generations will simply accept it as normal - not a “threat” at all.  Being alive in any major transition like this is always difficult for society, and this is probably the most major of transitions imaginable.  

A huge different is those machines still require you to know how to programme them and you still need some understanding of playing instruments. 

In order to play a synthesiser you still need the knowledge of playing a piano for instance. A synthesiser for instance has keys and the exact same chords as a piano and you just change the sound of it.
 

AI has been in music production for decades, but GEN AI is entirely different because it’s trained in and uses other people’s work. There will be hundreds/thousands of lawsuits in the future if we use Gen AI in top 40 pop because it will use loops and samples from pre existing material without copyright approval. Also you can’t “opt out” of AI being trained in your art, they can literally do anything because Gen AI already has over 1 billion files of classic literature to modern art to pull from.

i'm very against gen AI and find people who say "well nobody hated photoshop!" very stupid because photoshop doesn't just make the art itself, you need to learn it and utilize it to create your own concepts

But in my never ending search for interesting sounds I can't lie and say I wouldn't be interested in someone's pet algorithm chasing a rabbit down a hole and coming out with something unexpected for a human artist to tweak into a masterpiece.

I just want the regulations and safeguards in place for harm reduction before we start putting on our dreaming caps.
