That’s cute and all but his work is very specific. Beyonce did use the Metropolis inspired look back in the day but some of this is a little too too close to his work.  

The sexy metallic cvnty android has been his iconic style for decades.

 

Mind you, I adore Beyonce and went to the Renaissance tour twice and was obsessed with it to the same level as I was with The Monster Ball 2.0. And she brought a bit of it back for the Cowboy Carter show and I died!

I would have died for an official Sorayama x Beyonce collection and he for sure would have been happy to do so as he did with The Weeknd. I have some of his shirts (one is vulgar af) and I check occasionally for some aftermarket Dior collab stuff so I am a fan of both.

“Some of them are too close to his work” but the look Beyoncé look you used as her referencing Metropolis is almost identical to the one you were comparing to Sorayama 😭. The point I’m making is that both are clearly derivative and share a similar reference point, so I think it’s difficult to claim he’s the specific inspiration

I know what you mean, they both were inspired by Metropolis no doubt and I do not deny it.

 

But Sorayama made it his own by sexing it up and chroming it up and has been known for that style for ages.  Beyonce just took from both sources, “A copy of a copy of a…” for my NIN girlies.

 

In pop terms:

Metropolis= Madonna

Sorayama= Gaga

Beyonce= Ava Max

i was at chromatica ball london on renaissance release day!! the entire audience was streaming and talking about ‘the beyonce new album’, people were sharing airpods and dancing until the intro video started playing

Omg thats so funny, I had a similar experience i went to the Chicago chromatic ball and HER by Megan THEE Stallion came out and so did Super Freaky Girl by Onika Burgers came out and I was BOUNCING to Her the entire time, my husband and I went to Roscoes and 3 different drag queens did the new Onika meanwhile the WINNER of the night did Her by Megan
