There is something very unintentionally camp about this.

My understanding is (contrary to all who think she picked MSG to make it a spectacle) that they picked the venue because of it being one of the few central, easily accessible places where they could have a large wedding with adequate security. Which, short of doing it at home, is actually believable.

Nonetheless, the world's biggest pop singer getting married in a literal arena is absurd in a very entertaining way.

I mean it objectively fits the definition of camp. Getting married at Madison Square Garden is over-the-top, gaudy and very ridiculous. Unintentional camp in particular is something which is meant with great seriousness but still comes off in the same way.

Susan Sontag's definition of camp, the one often cited as being *the* definition of camp, focuses heavily on camp fashion, performance and art, though it obviously applies the term as it's more broadly used. The word camp precedes her definition by at least four hundred years, and encompasses a lot more than certain performance styles or visual media, including a general sensibility.
