Did anyone else watch The Other Two on HBO? I can't find a video of this particular scene but,

one of the characters- a pop star- is preparing to perform at the VMAs, waiting in his dressing room. Someone from the show knocks on the door & tells him he is "up next, after Katy Perry."

"We need to hurry," the character's team say to each other, before stopping the person at the door to ask "wait... is she doing music or comedy?"

"Comedy."

"Okay nevermind, we actually have a lot of time."

Yeah it reads as a lack of commitment to her art which makes it hard for audiences to commit, too. Her most successful videos are ones without humor or it was like California gurls where the humor was tempered and not so hammy.
