Lisa addresses old trainee videos with n-word in new documentary

Lisa has spoken about leaked trainee footage in which she, Jennie and Rosé were seen performing rap songs containing the N-word. She discussed the footage in her documentary Always Lalisa, which premiered at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival. Lisa documentary 'Always Lalisa' opens in Imax and cinemas worldwide Oct. 12

 

She explained that she was very young at the time. She recently left Thailand that time, was still unfamiliar with the history and cultural weight of the word and English was not her first language. As a trainee, she recalled, she was required to perform rap songs and did not know that using it was unacceptable. x

Yeah. It's stupid to think the whole world is aware of the meaning of the n word, particularly back then, and particularly for non-english speakers. As a frenchie, I heard this word in countless songs and I genuinely thought it was just another word for "dude"
