TAIPEI 3,311 Posted yesterday at 07:19 AM Share Posted yesterday at 07:19 AM (edited) for monsters who mentioning Sour Candy the song does not sound sufficiently ASIAN to a real asian like me. shes even not sing any korean lyrics included in the track, just merely a commercial collaboration. i do not believe she substantially likes k-pop or any BLACKPINK's music. in fact, during nearly 20 years since I've been a GAGA fan, her musics & music videos have rarely shown any asian style compared to other western female artists in my opinion. shes almost never faced issues with cultural appropriation (though I honestly dont mind cultural appropriation at all—cultures in this world naturally influence each other over time actually, so i dont see it as a serious / critical issue) but I really love it when she in asia and rocks those eastern-inspired looks. especially her japanese styles, and some chinese-inspired outfits that she puts on whenever the whim strikes her.
