Just finished the new series and dare I say, Flanagan’s done it again….

I just love his take, I love how he humanizes dark/horror themes.

i loved everything tbh, the visuals, the pacing, the characters and their development, the SOUNDTRACK !! (haute & freddy)

I hope they will renew it for S2 and S3 because he said in an interview it’s a 3-season story and there are many unanswerred questions so it would be amazing to see where he takes it!!

I loved it!
I really liked how he did the end credits for episode 7. Soooo eerie.

Carrie was humanized in this version and I really liked her portrayal. She was a cinnamon roll you wanted to protect at all costs. As much as I love the OG, this was really well done.

I'm watching it and it's so COOL

I don't believe in the glorification of murder, I do believe in the empowerment of women

I was also so obsessed with the humanization of Margaret. It was cool seeing her as a fully fleshed-out character, instead of just being some crazy religious fanatic.

as seen on tv

As someone who LOATHES remakes and stuff, I really LOVEEEED it. All the characters were so well done, the story was amazingly expanded, the music was BRILLIANT, I LOVE the selection of artists and diffirent sounds.. a true work of brilliance. I also love the adition of a certain storyline and characters and the open door for the final episode to be the end or for it to actually continue as a 3 seasons arc. Also love how they modernised this story, because it's even more poignant than it was before.

10/10, no notes except that I can't wait for the next seasons!

worse adaptation yet, Carrie only getting skinnier and prettier with each adaptation, when she is canonically deemed as off putting, unattractive and fat, compared to a pig. Them taking away her autonomy in the massacre and being pushed by that queercoded lesbian for no reason. They made carrie a meangirls euphoria Xmen  and the story is supposed to be about a tragedy about isolation and loneliness, that's the horror of it and they took it all away.

exactly!! I was so ready to hate her - as usual - but I couldn't help but feel sorry for her at some points. She played it super well, thanks to the writing ofcourse

I didn't loved It at all. But nice watch/ remake

what didn't you like? Because I did see some rather mixed-meh reviews, and idk why tbh (not everybody is supposed to like it I know)

I think her 'giving' away her autonomy actually made it a bit more realistic: she's way too innocent, and way too empathic to suddenly go and kill everyone. Even if she wanted revenge, I'm glad they kept her Carrie herself more tamed, and it was Emmaline who 'pushed' her

Regarding isolation/loneliness? you didn't feel her being lonely? I felt extremely sad for her at times. The conversation with the teacher, when they quote books: such a cute moment, which really shows how lonely she is, her mom grabbing her from the garden + putting her in the closet, her saying how she 'just wanted to be friends', all the students filming/laughing at her constantly,...... There were many aspects of the story that showed loneliness/isolation...  I guess they took the 'stereotypical loner girl'-vibe away, and made it a bit more realistic and modern. I liked that she was "kind of" friends with some of them, but also not, which made it even worse
