mamo 20,403
The Grammys just announced a new category for Best Asian Pop Music Performance. Gaga already dipped a toe in the genre with BLACKPINK on "Sour Candy," but the real question is: will she commit to the bit? Is it finally time for Gaga to enter her full Asian-pop Harajuku girl cultural appropriation era á la Gwen Stefani or maybe take inspiration from Madonna's Ray of Light to become a Hindu and Buddhist queen, sonically speaking? I can already see the headlines "Gaga: Queen of Asia Pop." What do you think? Would you be here for Gagasia? EDIT: This thread was purely made for comedic/satire purposes and not In any way meant to be taken seriously at all. Please be aware of the comments you post and refrain from anything that may come across as offensive or out of touch. Thank you. RAMROD 116,860
She already did with Sour Candy, musically, she shouldn't go more deeper or she will be accused as appropriating like Gwen does. As for fashion, she had been appropriate so far and no need to go HAM for the same reason. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ ʰᵃᵖᵖʸ 🌈 ᵖʳⁱᵈᵉ ᵐᵒⁿᵗʰ (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡
Anderson123 42,577
Yasss queen release Sour Candy (2026 Version) with extra korean verses. I can see the Grammys campaign already: "I don't know if I told you this before but I'm an italian american south korean woman very inspired by Kpop since I was 13 years old. I always wanted to make Kpop music before I even wanted to become a superstar". 3

Horny Chicken 10,919
Cultural appropriation is how cultures evolve so yes. Madonna’s Hindu era is still talked about today because it’s good. Gaga can do it too. Edited June 16 by Horny Chicken
Shadow 6,696
It's too bad that Lady Gaga would not be eligible for the newly introduced "Best Asian Pop Music Performance" Grammy category, as she does not meet the strict linguistic and regional criteria set by the Recording Academy. Stand in the light, cast your shadow.

onionring 922
Unrelated I was thinking the other day that she really should study or incorporate in a way the Arabic scale in her singing. Bey uses it sometimes but it always ends up sounding like one thousand and one nights adjacent. When it could be used effectively in glam rock/punk it could've taken disease to truly uncharted territories for example. And while I can't be sure I think Sam Reid sings in the Arabic scale on multiple songs from the vampire lestat soundtrack which is what gave me the idea.
