Well then they wasted a year and more money because they should have left the original animation untouched...this looks like a cheap straight to video remake or weird tv series animation...

Funnily enough it also started discourse about whether or not their daughter was trans because of her eye colour too. The girl baby had blue eyes and the boys had brown (they fixed it in the new trailer) and people jokingly started saying she was canonically trans and of course weirdos who don’t understand humour chimed in and it got outside of the queer social media sphere.

Then some random guy on TikTok went viral for guessing the whole plot beat for beat and suddenly they cancelled and scrapped it and pushed it back by a year for release.

For anyone wondering what the guy who predicted the plot was gonna be online that suddenly seemed to make them scrap the movie and push it back:

basically this guy predicted the story would be about Shrek being an overprotective father not wanting his kids to be treated like he was by humans because they’re ogres. His overbearing nature would force his daughter to run away like “omg my parents don’t understand me” with Pinocchio as her companion (hence the inclusion of him in the teaser).

Donkey and Shrek would then go looking for her. In the end they’d reunite after a villain character tries to convince her to turn herself into a human and they get defeated. Pinocchio would be turned into a human “real boy” and fall in love with the daughter. 

They also predicted that there’d be cringey Gen Z/Alpha humour like recreating Shrek memes like the ones in the teaser with references to TikTok and viral dance stuff — including a dance/music number in the middle of the film they would capitalise on for TikTok vitality irl (basically a redux of Holding Out For A Hero from Shrek 2).
He also predicted jokes about the original cast being “old” and having Shrek fight off humans on his journey and being “not as limber” as he used to be. They also predicted Dragon and Donkey would be divorced and one of his kids would be a stoner side character and that Dragon would finally have a voice actress and briefly appear to lecture/rip into Donkey as her ex husband.

This animation is totally fine. There's literally TONS of things to be really mad about rn. Move on.
