Billie is not releasing til 2027 so I’d like to see Olivia or even Ariana win pop categories instead of Taylor next year.

Its a good project! Props to her for having Robert Smith featured. Maggots for Brains is my favorite on first listen. Getting a little sick of the subject matter being so constant in her work, but she's a young artist so its whatever. Hopefully there's a shift coming bc she can go to some really interesting places with her voice/vibe/inspirations when she decides to branch out a little.

Sour should have won in 2022 based on impact alone. It’s not her best album but it was the biggest of 2021 and the whole world was tuned in.

I’d love to see Olivia get it, or Ariana, but the Grammys snubbed eternal sunshine pretty much completely so I doubt Ariana will

Grammys have been doing this thing with new pop girls where they get some awards or sweep with their big album (Billie, Olivia, Sabrina) and then if they release right after it's like they're still with the hype of the previous year and don't get anything (Guts, Happier Than Ever/Hit Me, Man's Best Friend) so I have a feeling they're going to give it to someone new like Olivia Dean. I haven't listened to that album yet but apparently has been well received and could take Pop Vocal and even Album of the Year.

Yeah I definitely see Olivia Dean getting it, her album is objectively bigger than showgirl and the only reason it has less sales is because of Taylor’s monstrous first week sales. It gets more streams and is especially huge in the UK and Australia 

Showgirl and YSPS***SIL will 100% get nominations, and I feel like showgirl could win just based on Taylor’s track record. 
 

Petal will likely get a pop vocal nom but not an AOTY nom

AOTY is the category that perhaps takes much more into account than just the album submitted. It seems like the artist’s history with the academy and overall trajectory makes a difference too. I’d argue it’s kinda harder for new artists to win this if they haven’t gotten to really establish themselves in the business. That’s why we have been seeing more and more legacy wins.
 

Even categories like ROTY and SOTY are becoming more strict on that. For example: Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” was snubbed entirely even though it was a huge song. Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” suffered the same fate. Like you pointed out: Both Sabrina and Olivia lost with their first albums (well, Sabrina’s 6th, but first real big album). Even “Golden” and “APT” lost most or all of their noms, coming from fairly new artists too. 

Usually, if you’re a brand new artist with no pull whatsoever in terms of influence, impact or consistently good releases, your album/song has got to be a monstrous behemoth for the Academy to give you a General Field Grammy. 
 

Regarding Ariana, yes the academy has some huge bias against her and that’s a well known issue. She was heavily snubbed during the Eternal Sunshine era, BUT, given her win with Defying Gravity last year, I think we might see some luck changing in her favor. Best Pop Vocal Album is pretty much on lock for a nomination given how weak this year is. And maybe Best Pop Solo Performance for “Hate That I Made You Love Me” since it’s proven to be the only stable pop song hit this quarter

TLOASG will not win anything in the album categories. It’s such a hated album and the only reason it will be nominated is because it’s Taylor Swift. Tortured Poets was snubbed in all categories and this album was much much more hated. The Academy is tired and Taylor’s 4 win record is so oversold that it will be long before they give her a 5th one.
 

Her only real chances at a win are Best Pop Solo Performance with The Fate of Ophelia. She could get a ROTY/SOTY win too but I’d say that’s less possible.

If Taylor can win 4 AOTY awards then this can as well. And I'm not saying this in a sense that it's a groundbreaking album although I really like it. But Olivia is pretty in the same lane as Taylor so much so that it’s giving when a new supreme rises the old one fades away (musically at least) so would make sense if the Academy decides to give it to her.
