I'm not saying it's necessarily wrong, especially the last few albums, it's just very mean-spirited to say and disheartening to see people (not you bc i know you have more than straw in your head) jumping on this just bc they have imagined beef with madonna. idk I basically share your brain on the assessment 100% just don't think linda perry needs to say every thing that's on her mind knowing especially the sh*t madonna gets from the media and public. she just can never stop talking and what she says is oftentimes mean

I think whats overlooked the most with Madonna's switch up around the Hard Candy era is how much it lined up with her divorce. I find it hard to not read her post-divorce career steps as anything other than a massive bout of self-doubt and insecurity - especially with the rumours Guy Ritchie cheated. The divorce timed up perfectly with the time the UK press in particular when at her with a vengeance for having "bingo wings" and wrinkles. She left her long term label in 09 as well and then by the mid point of the MDNA tour her and her son were having significant issues which the press latched onto. 

Its basically ego death.

In all fairness, its not like Madonna is the beacon of kindness in her interactions with others.

This month alone she's shaded Charli XCX for attention.

or we can freely express our thoughts. It's not like she called Madonna some horrible things, came for her family and kids or said something completely false. Stop being so sensitive. That's why music critics are afraid to criticize Taylor's and Beyonce's music, because fans like you put these artists on a pedestal and have a negative reaction on even slight criticism. Madonna as an artist and her art are not above criticism and that's ok.

Sadly true to a degree, especially on the horror that was MDNA.. even going from confessions to HC was kinda meh, like she really didn't need all those men ruining her songs as features  thought it had some nice moments, it was an inconsistent mess as a whole body of work, especially that ATROCIOUS cover. MDNA had some ok moments (GGW, Addicted, Fallin Free, Masterpie, Gangbang) but the rest was just.. souless and tryhard chasing the EDM trend.. Rebel heart had some amazing cuts, but it needed a lot of editing or lack there of since a lot of the demos were better, especially eliminating a lot of the features (like why the **** did she include Mike Tyson?! ).. but it was much better in terms of songs than the last two. Madame X is a brilliant album. i just wish she dropped Swae and Quevo.. but I loved the exploration of sounds on the album, thought I wish she had more moments like Come alive, Batuka and Ciao Bella.  

Now with C2.. I'm honestly a bit annoyed she went the sequel way, I feel it's a bit of a copy of Kylie's Tension and tension 2   idk she could have been more creative, called it idk Revalations on a dance floor as some fans suspected originally.. but that's just me. 

Either way, she always has some gr8 songs that you can use to create a playlist of the greats, thou this time around it'll be harder with the continuous nature of the album.

Jesus lord lmfao I literally said on another comment that the substance I agree with, just that it didn’t need to be said by her bc it’s mean and it almost always comes from that place with her. And she’s also not a critic she’s a notorious hater lmao you’re projecting onto the wrong wall when all I’m doing is saying Linda Perry is rude. I’m not saying someone is above criticism. I disagree with this fanbase more often than not on that very basis for expressing critique

She’s an incredible vocalist. What’s Up is amongst the hardest songs to sing. I’d love to see Madonna take a stab at it.

This is very true.  I personally find it hard to have compassion for anyone who does that.
