Honestly same. I don't think any song other than Bad Romance ever captivated me as much as that one from the very first second What I'd give to go back and experience it all again for the first time. Her cunty outfit, her cunty strut, her cunty attitude. Wow. What a moment in time, what an era existing in the context of all in which I live and what came before me

gagzus 20,597 Posted yesterday at 03:28 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 03:28 AM In honour of the anniversary let me lore dump a bit about my favourite subjects; the photoshoot (plus the two unfilmed fashion films around it) and the unreleased Scheiße music video from 2012. Spoiler the photoshoot took place on December 14th 2010 in London before Gaga had a break for Christmas. The shoot lasted 15 hours but wasn’t intended to be — in fact the latter half of the shoot wasn’t meant to happen at all. The photoshoot was inspired by metal album covers and Gaga was supposed to be an alien in a 1980s hair metal band as the prompt for the fashion that was pulled. The slime segment of the photoshoot was ONLY supposed to be the ones taken against the white backdrop — because Gaga was supposed to film a fashion film for Government Hooker in the slime dress on the streets of London during the early hours of the morning, when the streets were dead. However, she realised quickly that the outfit was too fragile and heavy to wear out in public so instead she continued to model around the studio in the look, eventually creating the iconic pink haired image we know and love. That image was at one point in contention for the album cover, it’s actually edited together from 3 separate pictures from the shoot. In fact all the final images (except one) are heavily edited and the reason was because — Val had to leave the shoot as it was late in the evening and she had to work with another client the day after, so Gaga and her team tried to make the makeup last and fixed it a lot themselves until the prosthetics and makeup became horrid. That’s actually a reason why they chose to have the final shoot be in greyscale. Because Gaga did not like the makeup in a lot of the shots and how visible the prosthetics were so Nick edited them. They even retouched her body I’m some images making her slimmer (TEOG cover) and even chopped up several images together and removed things like clothing (she had a tube top on in the BTW single cover originally). The day after the photoshoot Gaga was also supposed to film a fashion film at the TATE in London but cancelled it last minute for unknown reasons and we don’t know what the song was going to be (I always was told it was most likely Bloody Mary). In fact her original plan was to make fashion films for ALL her favourite tracks on the album that she knew had no chance of ever being a single. Jumping ahead, in 2012 when she filmed the campaign for FAME she also used the set to film a Scheiße music video, no new outfits or anything just in the set (I’ve actually seen it and it’s basically just long unedited shots of her lip syncing to the song on the set). The video however was never finished, even the cut I saw had unfinished CGI and VERY long uncut shots. Because Gaga hoped using Scheiße in the campaign would give it that boost to chart and would convince her label to allow her to make it a single with a video. And sadly it never did. Same thing happened with Heavy Metal Lover before it — she performed it on NYE in hopes it would chart so they would let her make it a single and film a video for it. But by the end of 2012 they were pushing for her to move on from Born This Way and were dying for ARTPOP already. So yeah that’s a lot of the info I know about the shoot and some stuff from the era. 2 2 1

Thank you so much for sharing all of this in such detail. You seem like the right person to ask about this: *I may be getting some of my details mixed up, but* there was another photoshoot for Born This Way, featuring LG in skimpy lingerie on a white bed, with white/sheer curtains or fabric draped around the room. I have seen several of the pics before (of course now I can't locate any of them on google for the life of me). She was wearing the facial/shoulder prosthetics, had the blunt bangs, etc, but wore more minimal makeup. She may even have had the tooth gap (not 100% sure about that part though). I know for a fact it is genuine/it happened... but I don't remember the context of it in the BTW visuals, or where any of those photos are now. Do you know anything about it? Did it take place prior to the Nick Knight shoot, or was it a backup plan just in case? Why was it scrapped? & if you do know about it, do you know where to find any of those images? 💚

She had the original sets from the magazine and then one on a bed with a very bright backdrop. the pictures are on Gagapedia https://ladygaga.fandom.com/wiki/Mariano_Vivanco
