That's not what government overreach is nor is it the conclusion of the court.

The agency did not "ruthlessly track her down". They opened an investigation into her - which she then chose to voluntarily pay before the completion of the investigation.

They hadn't issued a penalty when she decided to pay.

The court did not rule that the agency had committed overreach.

The court ruled that the agency's evidence did not meet the legal threshold necessary under the case of vital interests test and that they ruled that working abroad does not meet the "sporadic absence" test. Not that they had committed an overreach.

Honestly I can't wait for the world to allow us to deal with class traitors properly.

Also your claim that she voluntarily paid before a penalty is false. the court's judgment states that they triggered formal penalty proceedings for a "very serious infringement" and slapped her with massive 125% fines, forcing her to pay mid-process purely to safeguard her assets from seizure and freeze predatory interest while fighting this 8 year battle.

Let me break it down for you since you're intellectually challenged. a police officer has the authority to arrest people, but locking someone up without evidence or a warrant is overreach, just like fabricating or guessing a tax residency to extort a non-resident is overreach. This exactly what the court pointed out.

She’s only being acquitted for one year, still guilty for the rest.

Get those reparations.

This is the level of ideological fanaticism you reach when you're trapped in a dogmatic chronically online echo chamber.

Please snap out of it, come back to reality and seek help.

Calling me a bootlicker while you are ignorantly out here defending a government agency that just got publicly humiliated by its own High Court for unlawful overreach is a special kind of dumbassery you only see on gagadaily.

Bless your heart babe. Good luck crossing the street with that brain.

Did you know that this only applies for the investigation they did in 2011? She was still found guilty in the years after that. Just letting you know so you stop sounding this ridiculous

The 2011 case came first and is a separate administrative matter, this is the first time a Federal Court has actually forced the tax agency to show its calculations and receipts on this issue instead of playing media games and their entire case collapsed in court in the most embarrassing way.

Any person with connected braincells should be questioning a tax authority that is willing to completely fabricate multi million euro claim for 2011. Not to mention the fact that the same authority operates a controversial bonus system which allows them to collect direct personal bonuses based on the amount of penalties they liquidate.

This completely compromises their credibility to me considering their track record of using guesswork, agressive media games and prison threat to squeeze out money from international figures. the Spanish Supreme court has reprimanded them for this repeatedly. Even Shakira openly admitted that she settled the 2012 -14  under coercive threat of an 8 year prison sentence to protect her young children from a toxic trial which is completely understandable.

Now im trying to be respectful but if you want to jump into a conversation completely blind to the basic timeline and facts then i can go there with you too.

Girl, the only reason she did this is because she knew she was guilty and trying to fight it would only end up on her paying extra.

If she was innocent why didn't she fight for those trials like she fought for the 2011 one?

Mind you, it wasnt just 1 case that she accepted defeat, but 3.

Because fighting the 2011 was purely administrative and financial.

The 2012-14 case was where the authorities explicitly weaponized an 8 year prison sentence and a multi year trial which is a coercion tactic they have used time and time again , this put her and her young children at risk, add her split from pique complicating things in that case and I understand why she took a plea deal instead of gambling with her freedom even though her legal team was confident they could beat the claim which she stated. Evidence was never presented in that case and judging by how this one turned out im side eyeing the tax agency.

I just can't believe yall aren't questioning a shady, predatory tax authority even with a court judgement so definitively against them.

This is such a corny response.

They "caught" her but they're the one's with a 60 million judgement against them?
