Why she put abracadabra on an album that sounds nothing like abracadabra

i need more abracadabra tracks

Because she didn’t want to make an album with 14 Abracadabras.

why the dead dance got the single treatment but not Vanish Into You, Garden Of Eden and Zombieboy

I assume due to "Disease" underperformed and nothing properly sticking with tiktok, aside from Abra.

GOE had a lot of playlist reach originally, right? @monketsharona

1. Disease video plot? Like what’s actually going on scene by scene

2. Why the idea of dolls for TDD with that doll island etc

3. For Coachella set what were those outfits for Killah

4. who is she singing to and about in HBDYWM what’s with hair and ripped up jeans

5. In Mayhem ball what does she sign on the parchment during Schiesse

4. HBDUWM is a song that I think works on two levels: one being a literal partner (maybe Michael), but secondly (which is the angle reflected in the MBT) is to the audience (“do you only like the bad girl I play on stage or do you like me for me?”)

5. I’ve always interpreted the signing of the scroll in Scheisse as Gaga entering a Faustian bargain with herself (she’s both the devil and someone selling their soul to the devil). Gaga has stated that the Mistress represents a ruthless and egotistical side of her personality, so with her singing that she wishes she could be “strong without this Scheisse,” I think you could interpret that as meaning “I wish I could be strong without this bad bitch act, without this heavy armor, without the trappings of fame/my persona,” but she ultimately caves and becomes the tough bitch she needs to be in order to succeed (which in turn becomes the challenge she poses to her more innocent/sensitive side in EtherealGa).

she becomes powerful enough where she can begin to manipulate the reality of the Mistress’ dreamscape (sort of like lucid dreaming)

Wow I never really thought about it that way, what song or act are you referring to?

One think I don’t really understand about Mayhem ball is that the “Good” Gaga ultimately gets killed by the Mistress during Poker Face (coachella version) and she was buried before Perfecr Celebrity comes on but then, on the tour, she kinda falls asleep and literally falls into the sand as she didn’t belong to that dream world. That was an odd change for me

Act III: The Beautiful Nightmare That Knows Her Name. I interpret that act as being Ethereal/GoodGa embracing the darkness (Killah), death (ZB/TDD), and indulgence (LD/Applause/JD) of the Mistress’ world and making it her own.

I don’t think the “death” is literal. I think it’s more akin to something like The Wizard of Oz/Alice in Wonderland where EtherealGa is sent into a dream where she either survives the challenges put forth by the Mistress or dies. In terms of the sand, idk I don’t disagree that her being buried alive and surviving is a bit more powerful than her falling into the sand pit, but I feel like they basically have the same effect.

1. The hate for Don’t Call Tonight…Requiem shined a new light on it.

2. The album shoot and orange/black aesthetic which didn’t reflect onto the tour or performances.

3. The hate for DCT.

TAIPEI

- that why would she rather perform summerboy than cant stop the high and dont call tonight. if she doesnt performs during mayhem era then when will she? are we going to waiting for another 20 years? lol

- and almost all her performances look during this era & tour aesthetics/concepts are amazing as hell but why the mayhem album's photo shoots are messy + trashy as fvck?

- also why she's never make music videos more than 3 (if not counts the dead dance) for an album anymore. there has such amazing songs like vanish into you, garden of eden and how bad do u want me, yet she and her team choose to completely ignore them?

Plastic Flower

-her saying she would come back to Mexico :laughga:

-her wearing that Frida Kahlo ass wig during the tour

Also not really that I don’t get but I have to say how much better her energy was for Killah during the original TAOPC shows. :cyanlights: I love the MAYHEM Ball but Killah and Zombieboy lacked in that aspect and got overshadowed by LoveDrug and Applause.

REALITY

I feel like Mayhem was meant to sound chaotic but sometimes it feels more like a bunch of different styles and influences put together than one clear album vision tbh. It still works but I don’t think it’s her most cohesive project sonically.

It sounds like you're arguing against something that you agree with

MAYHEM isn't a sonically cohesive project. That's the point. It's chaotic in that nature, but I think it fits together thematically. Early in the album cycle, she described the album as "one long night" (or something like that), and I think it more or less does its job.

Mistress of MAYHEM and Lady in Red same character afaik

MAYHEM Ball only really has two characters (Mistress and EtherealGa) who eventually synthesize into one at the end

The whole point of the transition between The Beast and Killah (probably better illustrated in the tour than Coachella/Copacabana) is that EtherealGa (or the “light” or “innocent” Gaga) is tapping into the Mistress’ dark magic and beginning to play with the fabric of the “gothic dream.”

I thought Mistress Mayhem was just a side of Gaga, the clone asleep on the ceiling. She’s the dark, narcissistic, egomaniac that becoming so famous has created. The blonde “character” is just Gaga as well, Stefani. She’s been pretty clear about that in interviews. I didn’t think The Mayhem ball had an actual “story” with a plot, and if it did, it was pretty loose. I  thought the tour just played on the idea of her inner turmoil as a mega famous artist.

I was hoping those lyrics teased on her website that went unused were clues/hints/part of an ARG, but I guess they're just more of her zillions of pieces of unreleased material that I might never hear :bradley:

"I try so hard to sing"

But clearly does not try so hard to share that song with us LMFAOOO
