Britney Spears has taken a plea deal, which sees her pleading guilty to a wet reckless, in her DUI case

Spears, 44, was sentenced to 12 months probation and one day in jail, credited as time served, by Ventura County Commissioner Matthew Nemerson. She was fined $571.00 and must see a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month. Her vehicle is authorized to be searched for drugs and alcohol.

Britney’s lawyer Michael Goldstein tells TMZ ... “Through her plea today, Britney has accepted responsibility for her conduct.  She has taken significant steps to implement positive change which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorney’s decision to reduce the charge in this case and dismiss the DUI.  Britney appreciates this discretion and is also grateful for the outpouring of support she has received.”

I do hope this is a turning point for her regarding her relationship with alcohol and other substances. I know her boys have moved in with her and her relationship with them seems to have improved a lot, so hopefully this is the beginning of a positive shift.

She’s very lucky to get this outcome. As someone who’s been a fan for decades, I hope THIS was her wake up call and that she needn’t get into any more trouble with alcohol.

Her lawyer said Britney will also take part in a 3 month alcohol education program.

She wasn’t able to naturally make her mistakes and face the consequences throughout her 20s because she „acted up“ shortly and was put into the c-ship being completely controled for over a decade. The ****-ups, mistakes and failures, and dealing with them throughout ones 20s are existential and essential for becoming a fully independent and resilient adult.

I‘m positive these incidents she has going on after the c-ship ended are somewhat natural, and she’ll learn through her mistakes rather quickly, just like a 21 y.o. is doing **** because they are „an adult now, you can‘t tell them anything and they can make their own (dumb and reckless) decisions“, she is finally a free adult using that freedom a little too much.

Imagine being fully caged up all your life, entering your 40s being FREE for the first time in your life.
