Aura has a double entendre in plain sight that I just learned about

YASKALE

Hello lovelies

Because we live in this information rich era sometimes I just gotta look up the answer to a question that's bugging me and today's hot topic was "do Muslim men have modesty standards?" Yes, random, but, educational!

So the song is called Aura right? And those of us that have been around know that it was originally Burqa etc. etc. Well, I stumbled across this from Wikipedia:

The intimate parts (Arabic: عورة 'awrah, ستر, satr) of the human body must, according to Islam, be covered by clothing.

In Arabic, the term 'awrah or 'awrat (عورة), with the root ‘-w-r, means "defectiveness", "imperfection", "blemish," or "weakness". The most common English translation of awrah is "nakedness".[1] In Arabic, the word 'awrah is used in reference to both men and women.

And in case you're wondering: yes, it is pronounced very, very similarly to AURA. So... there you go.

also the way she pronounce "the hood" is similar to how you pronounce the name David in Arabic (Dawood/Daud), and the "knife under the hood" is a reference to the story of David and Joanthan, when Johnny gave David his knife and his armor, and they were the first documented gays.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Only took us 13 years to have a theoretical interpretation of those lyrics :laughga:

I mean… where have you been :kry:

And when I tell you that it was only a couple years ago I realized G.U.Y. meant, literally, guy under you :brat:  I spent entire 10 years just thinking it was like, deliberate artistic freedom to put dots after the letters. Lmao

Oh wow … 1 Samuel 18 … that this encounter literally segues directly into a music festival heralding David’s rise to reign … and then into David’s solo string session … (Saul’s reception low-key also echoing the “pleasure/toil” dichotomy)

Spoiler

6 At the approach of Saul and David, on David’s return after striking down the Philistine, women came out from all the cities of Israel to meet Saul the king, singing and dancing, with tambourines, joyful songs, and stringed instruments.[b] 7 The women played and sang:

“Saul has slain his thousands,
    David his tens of thousands.”

8 Saul was very angry and resentful of the song, for he thought: “They give David tens of thousands, but only thousands to me. All that remains for him is the kingship.” 9 From that day on, Saul kept a jealous eye on David.

10 The next day an evil spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and he raged in his house. David was in attendance, playing the harp as at other times, while Saul was holding his spear. 11 Saul poised the spear, thinking, “I will nail David to the wall!” But twice David escaped him. 12 Saul then began to fear David because the Lord was with him but had turned away from Saul.

Omggggg when did you become a fan? :kry: During the BTWB, Gaga called the song “G.U.Y. (Girl Under You)” on Twitter m, and during the ARTPOP era she would always brag about what G.U.Y. meant, like she was Shakespeare or something

(Un)fortunately I missed twitterga era :traumatica:  but given lyrics such as g.u.y. and awrah and koons/queen, ARTPOP sure was the wildest shakespearean time
