UN Votes To Approve New World Map

The UN has approved a new world map blue print/standard that better reflects proportions on Earth as parts of the Globe near equator are underrepresented in size (ex, Africa, Central America), and Northern areas exagerated (ex: Greenland, Northern Canada, Alaska etc).

 

The vote was neaely unanamous with the only member to vote against it being the United States

Something that for a body of it's political importance and role is relatively innoculous and yet the US still decides to make a point of being the dickhead faction at the UN

Historically maps were designed to show off the power of empires like the British Empire. That was reflected in the size/scale of which we made maps. Countries with more power were drawn as bigger. Africa notoriously was shrunk in scale on old maps and the UK was made much bigger (hence why for decades British people didn’t realise that the UK is in fact; not even the size of almost a full state in the US).

Idk, I think it's kinda c*nty (in a problematic and toxic kind of way) that we always dissent.

Part of me wonders why we're even in the UN when we can barely U our S's so how could we ever hope to be an N in a U'd UN

because the headquarter is in New York to compensate for the pride of New Yorkers that they are neither the capital of their country nor their state, but at least the informal capital of the world instead.
