Minecraft used to not be very protective of it's brand pre-Microsoft, there was likely no licensing cost. Mojang recognized that the game was a sandbox and was very much upheld by it's community and that included CaptainSparklez, the content creator that collabed with Gaga to create the Minecraft visual.

Everyone complaining about the video being messy and I mean.... Yea that's kinda the point . This video represents basically what ARTPOP is about with its era. An angel being shot down by greedy capitalist and then traveling to a castle to get revived into a goddess combining both Art and Pop culture. When you combine things, expect it to get messy. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but that's why it's one of her best videos imo . She put everything into one chaotic canvas and delivered!
