Well, the Miami show (my show hihi) was rescheduled, not cancelled. It seems this show is fully scrapped? :noparty:

Probably due to the fact we're so close to the end of the MAYHEM ball now and she rlly wants to end it in NYC

We know she has health issues and she has spoken about her markers for auto-immune issues being whack at times... As someone who has similar health issues and also sings (not nearly as good as her lol), tension in the larynx from actual sickness can not always be identified early if you are experiencing tension from just overuse and stress. We know she rehearses each show, and she most likely spends a long time warming up her voice for each show. Vocal warmups are really helpful for identifying an issue going on in the voice... so I'm wondering if she maybe downplayed the symptoms of an infection and just chopped it up to tension because she has been busy and on the road. In this case- you can really push yourself pretty far before suddenly just destroying your voice. Knowing how hard she fights to do these shows, this is my best guess what maybe happened. She was already straining and they just didn't realize what was causing it until it got bad fast.

I was rather referring to rehersing the new music for some new performances. I belive learning new songs vocally may be a bit harder than rehersing the ones your instrument knows already. The Dead Dance is the hardest song vocal wise in her career with all the high notes by the end. I believe that rehersing them while touring might have exhaust her s bit so maybe now a similar thing could happen

Really sorry to hear this news.

Commiserations to everyone who was set to go to the cancelled show.

She has done superbly to get this far. When she had that vocal strain quite early in the tour I feared the worst, I wondered how was she going to get through the schedule that lay ahead, but she has got through it (almost all the way), and has maintained a great level by all accounts. Fingers crossed now for the three remaining shows.

Has anyone heard any word about refunds though ticketmaster yet 😬 praying we get refunded atm

Yes, got an email yesterday.

"Hi,

Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event.

The good news is that no action is required to obtain a refund. It will be processed to the original method of payment used at time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer. It should appear on your account within 14-21 days.

Please Note: If the tickets were transferred to you, the refund will go to the fan who originally purchased the tickets from Ticketmaster."

Ngl that last line is exactly why Ticketmaster needs to stop letting people resell on secondary platforms for a premium. Imagine paying $1k for a resale ticket, the show getting cancelled, and just flat out losing that money.

Thank you, I hadn’t seen that yet but now I just found it buried in my inbox. I was too upset yesterday to notice it coming in 😓

Ohhh then youre absolutely right with that too probably. If she has been working on new music and gearing up for new things, she is probably overusing her voice much more than we think

It’s definitely cancelled.

The right thing to do is reschedule but I think the logistics would be too hard. There might not be a date free soon enough before the crew disband and go onto other projects.

This is the 3rd Gaga concert I’ve booked flights and a hotel to see her that’s been cancelled.

My Gaga tour anxiety is that bad that I now buy multiple dates just to have one shot of seeing her 😅

That said, I’m very lucky to have seen her in Toronto twice this tour so I didn’t feel that bad and was already having a bad day. I’m just mad at myself for wasting money and I feel terrible for the folks I met who flew so far and gave up wayyyy more than me.

There’s not much Gaga can do about it. It’s the accepted norm to give an apology and a refund. But more could be done generally.

If I was her, I’d ditch dynamic pricing for a start.

Just a thought, but I’d also have some free exclusive, collectable merch (records, art, shirts) attendees on cancelled dates could get as an apology. Like a Gaga vault designed specially by her. By being exclusive and her work, these items could have value to them fans can either treasure as a collective or sell to cover some of their costs.
