When Janet was basically reaching her adulthood (the time you’re figuring your own stuff out), Michael was REALLY coming into his own with off the wall and thriller so yeah it kind of makes sense that they’d find ways to publicly be closer later on. It really only happened after she blew up, too, which makes sense bc that would provide opportunities for them to do that. It’s not like he did much with the former J5 members later either and tbh that’s probably bc they didn’t have careers and he became The icon Michael Jackson.
