HeavyCapiLover 4,260
Plz don't cum for me it's not a critic against gaga. But I've seen some people talking about how they wanted gaga to experiment more with her voice, and I kinda agree. I mean gaga has an incridbly powerful voice but it doesn't got to be loud all the time. I know gaga is capable of doing many different things with her voice, I mean just look at the Happy Mistake performance at SNL. Why doesn't she do more soft stuff with her voice like she did for Heal me or in her early songs from the TF era? Is it that she doesn't like it? Or is it too hard? Please debate

PartySick 168,977
Watch any videos of The Cure live. Those vocals sound great in the studio but usually end up with her yelling the lyrics on stage Which, fair, 'cause the amount of breath control necessary for that would mean sacrificing basically all movement and dance songs, but still. ¡Seguimos aquí!
Anderson123 41,269
The one thing I can say is that when she yells live like that “put your fcking hands up REPLAAAAY” makes me think she could damage her voice and She’s probably well trained to take care of it so it doesn’t happen but yeah.

Bonkers 30,746
I would say she comes in hot too often. She's always *****SINGING!!!!!**** and often at moments where something softer would be my preference. The opening of How Bad Do U Want Me is a good example for me. She's not exactly ***SINGING**** but it's just more aggressive than I would prefer. She has a beautiful 'soft' voice too, and she does use it often. I just wish it was a little more often, especially at the beginning of songs. Ladle Ghoulash 39,267
I hate to break out the vocal pedagogy, but she basically never screams aside from the “hands up” stuff lol. I also prefer the bigger vocals, tbh. I think she’s just a theatrical gal that prefers an over the top vocal and honestly, I love that about her. I’m honestly sick of all of the bedroom sh*t people are doing nowadays. If you can sing, fckn SING We have forgotten our public MANNERS 5

I mean, tbf, I feel like the delivery is basically about as big as it is on the album for HBDUWM on the whole (and really for most of MAYHEM live) We have forgotten our public MANNERS

She do be yelling but I personally don't mind it. It brings to mind the full body convulsions when she used to sing the "HIGH FOR SO LONG" part of Dope ¡Seguimos aquí!

And to really take things up a notch, lol, hearing the "Taylor Swift" remix is what really made think this. Taylor's 'softer' "vocals" of the same lyrics just work better for my taste. Yelling would be unsupported, but she’s often times either belting or using some form of healthy distortion. I get that it’s not everybody’s cup of tea, but it always makes me wince a bit when people use “yelling” or “screaming” to describe a vocal that they think is too loud or somewhat unpleasant/harsh even if it is controlled, technically supported, purposefully sung that way for effect etc. Edited 12 hours ago by Ladle Ghoulash We have forgotten our public MANNERS
