From the Rethug perspective, the smaller the minority, the easier to demonize them, with the least pushback. All the anti-trans stuff is just to whip up their base of bigoted morons, to get them to vote for Rethugs. The party is still, as it has long been, the party of the rich -- specifically, the rich who want to avoid paying taxes. They're the owners. The bigots are just the suckers, because the rich don't have enough votes without them.

There’s really no basis for the idea that 2A is about keeping down slaves and it’s pretty well-established by the founders own rhetoric that it’s about fighting tyranny.

It mentions the reason in the article:

“it will force transgender Tennesseans to pay for coverage of detransition care that they will likely never need—extra coverage that will unnecessarily drive up their healthcare costs.”

Trans people that detransition are like gay people who find Christ and become heterosexual. Yeah you can find some, but it’s all bullshit. This is about making treatment more inaccessible from a financial perspective.

More concerning is that they are then outing people to the entire world by posting identifiable information alongside all medical information relating to their “neurological, behavioral, or mental health conditions”.

We know our trans brothers and sisters are more likely to face barriers when finding work and finding housing. We know they are more likely to have been through violence at home as youths and as adults. We know there  is a lot more trans people have to unpack when it comes to their identity and relationship to religion, culture, family, friends, society.  This leads to poorer mental health outcomes. 
 

Of course these facists will use the data collected to paint trans people as “crazy” and “mentally ill” and use it as an excuse to justify further oppression and violence.

So in 2014, Michelle Duggar, of 19 Kids and Counting fame, recorded a robocall in Arkansas opposing an ordinance. She ignorantly insinuated trans people were predators and the ordinance would allow men into women’s private spaces. 

It was all projection. 

Her eldest son is a despicable pile of rot who S.A.ed his own sisters while he was a teenager. Now he is in jail for possession of truly atrocious material. 

Then just a few days ago, ANOTHER one of her adult sons was arrested for S.A.ing a child!

My point is, these people who are so vocal against trans rights are fear mongering and trying to deflect.

Nearly every time Repukes at any level try to pass anti-trans legislation it's stopped by either a court or Democrats.

For as pissed as I am at congressional Dems, they deserve an iota of credit for that one. And nearly every court, even the supreme court with its insane conservative bias, will know that allowing the legal violation of medical privacy is a horrifying slippery slope.

Not that Repukes' goal is to actually pass this anyway. They're just creating a moment of "let's whip up the transphobes" and "let's whip up the resistance" so they can quietly do something else while we're all talking about this. Probably rigging some election somehow or scrubbing someone's name out of the Epstein files.
