Lady Gaga Deserves Credit for Setting the bar for Appropriate Interactions with Fans

I've been thinking about this for awhile, but I decided to make a thread on it after seeing this Reddit post:

Memeability of this aside, Lady Gaga really did set the bar. She was close with fans, but she never overshared or made creepy comments. She was always aware of the boundaries she had to make as a pop star to make sure that she was never taking advantage of her fans. On top of this, she also always gave credit and support where it was necessary. When a fan designed her FAME perfume outfit, for example, she gave credit and made sure they got praise which is why we even know about it. Colleen Ballinger, Onision, etc. should take notes.

Gaga is already wealthy enough, she doesn't need more credits, her black card, that I'm sure she own, already enough :ororomunroe:

For anybody who didn’t know, this all occurred because when she did #BodyRevolution on LM.com, obviously people followed suit BUT the biggest and most liked posts were all muscle and built gays. So everyone wanted to get some attention because well… gays.

I do miss LM in it’s infancy though, used to love going on and seeing everybody’s art and how positive people were… until Roar v Applause happened :icant: then the amount of anti-Katy trolls on the site was insane. To the point Gaga had to comment the infamous “no negativity on this site pls”

I would say even before that, there were guys posting shirtless/nude photos on daily basis , it’s a shame though as the LM.com was supposed to be about art/community/lady Gaga, but it turned out to be about sexualizing yourself for likes

Also I do think this whole social media experiment thing ultimately led Gaga to step away from maintaining that level of fan interaction, people were flooding suicidal posts and stuff like that in order to get Gaga’s attention, I believe it become too intimate very quickly and too much for her to handle

Oh absolutely, people started noticing what got her notice, I miss when she would come into chats to talk about random not even music related stuff.

I think the end of BTW into ARTPOP definitely soured her connection with fans, like especially since a “hierarchy” happened with her NYC fans she grew close with and things like Radio ARTPOP etc. People like Mark and Maikeeb who were assholes to put it politely and literally used to lie that they became her friend and said that the monster paw, the fanbase name and other things was dead and she didn’t like it, fans fighting to get backstage at the tour, people desperate to be with her during Princess Die onstage by throwing essays practically at her. Then I think a big nail in the coffin was when fans were AWFUL to Emma who was fan and close friend to her in a wheelchair and got to meet Gaga a lot during the era. Like some of the things I read online were awful. Finally the last thing that happened I remember from around this time was, she gave one of those NYC fans Brooklyn Nights as a gift and they basically just passed it around until it leaked.

Although random fun fact two of the massive stans from her god awful NYC followers ended up becoming somewhat famous; Maikeeb was Cardi B’s stylist for a while and one fan went on to become Kandy Muse on Drag Race.

Oh, yea, a fun throwback/lore topic! I miss LM.com so much. Even with all the drama, those were the days that helped me get through my days...:legend:

I met Emma in passing once at the Cheek to Cheek tour prior to the show, and she was nice enough to say hi to me when I called to her. She didn't know me from Adam, but she was kind anyway. I'm still embarrassed that we had a nice small talk exchange, and then I ruined it all by asking if she'd get a letter to Gaga for me, but she politely declined, as she should have. I was so cringe. :messga: Sorry, @Emma. I was starstruck by you and in a weird place in my life, but I continue to do embarrassing things on the daily regardless. :smh: I hope you're well!
