Do we know the timeline of Mayhem songs?

I’m finishing up chromatica ball again and love the sneak peek of Shadow of a Man- was wondering if we know how early that song was and if it was intended to be a leading track vs. disease?

Would be interesting to see chronologically which songs were written before others.

all we know is that she started with Vanish and ended with DWAS, and making the album took place over 7 months in 2023-2024. Little detectives could probably guess more by looking into her studio pics on insta but as far as i know the rest is unknown. 

You could guess she made GOE, Killah, Blade of Grass and Perfect Celebrity in the same period because they all feature Gesaffelstein as a producer. Disease and CSTH probably followed after Perfect Celebrity, leading Gaga to reconsider making the whole album sound industrial.

My guess :

She probably started with the "classic pop" songs (HBDYWM, VIY, LoveDrug) when she was still early in her relationship with Michael.

Encouraged by Michael, she kept diving into her inspirations and that probably lead to disco and funk so Zombie Boy, Shadow of a Man, Kill for Love, maybe The Dead Dance too

Then, Gessafelstein came in and they made GOE, Killah, Blade of Grass and Perfect Celebrity.

Then the narrative took shape and she made Disease, CSTH 

She loved it so much she wanted to change the songs she had made, Michael convinced her not to do.

Then she really cemented the narrative of the album and made the last few tracks to complete the story of the project, so the Beast, Don't call tonight and Die with a Smile.

 

Just a theory ! Not sure where Abra fits in there. Probably around Disease ?

Yes she started with VIY.

We know after Perfect Celeb she tried to change everything to industrial

Shadow of the Moon was used only because of the MJ gesture she did 

But yeah she started with Vanish, I think it was a few months after Tony's death.
