Yep. Having seen the Lady and the Legend, there's a movie in their relationship. Both characters develop, the relationship changes, you could make a good story out of it.

The recent Bob Dylan movie is a good template imo. They narrowed the focus, didn't try to do too much. I thought it worked well.

You could make an entire movie just about her pre-Fame life. Even if it were made right now, the past 20 years have been so insanely dense with events that...I just don't know how you can abridge that.

And don't get me started on how I'm already bracing myself for epic levels of disappointment on the Michael biopic. My only solace is that it's basically making no noise so hopefully nobody will see it

I imagine you’d condense it down by using what the most publicly known stuff and events are, but you could easily do a biopic now of her life up until the Super Bowl.

Split it into 6 acts over 3 hours (30 mins per act)

Start it out with her a a kid in catholic school being rebellious, (this would end with her singing at the top of her lungs in the halls and a title roll) then cut to her performing onstage at The Bitter End and have her meet Lady Starlight after a show talking about wanting to make a pop burlesque show. That’s easily an intro. Then a montage of her travelling trying to make it big and all her shows in bars, Lolla and end it with her getting signed to Def Jam. - that’s an entire first act. (You can use songs like Disco Heaven and an Iron Maiden song maybe for this segment)

Have her meet a music producer who we never see but come back to later bc of him SAing her (it’s important to her values as a woman and an artist for honesty I think) show her getting dropped and signed to Interscope. - act 2

Show her preparing for the NewNowNextAwards with Just Dance, meeting BoomKack and starting there relationship. We get introduced as an audience to Troy Carter and Jimmy Ivine. Establish Luc as her on-off boyfriend here too. Show her travelling and performing set to Just Dance and then have the first main song showed in full as her performing PokerFace during a festival in 2009 or something (have this be a big moment and have her mention monsters and stuff onstage) - act 3

Cut forward to them on the set of the Bad Romance video getting ready to make history, show her learning the choreo the night before talking to BoomKack (set up their clashing and later creative break up here), then have her come on set in McQueen and have Francis ask her if she’s ready “I’m ready”- cut to black, then show a load of stuff from TFM era set to Telephone, including stuff with Beyoncé, interviews, arguments with Luc in private, her starting to get into drugs and drinking more and her getting critics then The Monster Ball where she faints and is hospitalised after the show. - Act 4 

Act 4 basically ended with a setup of her mental health, physical health deteriorating and also had her “downfall” setup. Have it show her 6 or so months later on a break recording Born This Way in the studio on tour in Europe. Have Troy mention concerns to her about Madonna comparisons to the song and him bring up the Alejandro video looking like Vogue etc. (this sets up Troy’s concern for her image and him making money and his eventual departure). Also have her mention how her body is exhausted in this (sets up the hip break years after). Show her at the VMAs with the Meat Dress and then the whole act skips throughout the Born This Way era set to the sounds of Scheiße showing key events and the controversy and public perception shift, show her doing more drugs, throwing up backstage, using an oxygen tank, kissing Taylor and recording ARTPOP and stuff act ends with her onstage in slow mo as her hip finally gives during Scheiße in Montreal. - End of act 5

The final act opens with her recovering from the injury talking about authenticity and how people have abandoned her and how she doesn’t know if she wants to be Lady Gaga anymore. Have this be the point where all her trauma comes out about being SA’d and have it be the emotional crux of the whole movie. A woman who feels betrayed by the world and questions whether she even wants to exist anymore. She puts on her headphones laid down with a mic over the side of her bed and starts recording Applause. While she’s singing this we go through key events that happen with headline about Roar vs Applause and her being “over” Then another big emotional piece where she and Taylor argue and it ends with him leaving her after he finds out she got offered ASIB. Show her starting to come up with Shallow and this is when Bobby comes and tells her about the SuperBowl offer thanks to Joanne. Show Super Bowl setup and rehearsals with behind the scenes stuff set to her rehearsing Million Reasons whilst she’s sad. Finally show her at the Super Bowl being raised up saying “how can it get any bigger than this” singing the national anthem on the roof. (Show Troy watching her on tv somewhere knowing he screwed up) Then the rest is a 1:1 Super Bowl recreation (minus Million Reasons since that was in the last bit) end the movie with the performance of Bad Romance and her celebrating with her team. (This was essentially the moment she became back in the public’s good graces in 2017). Then have the credits set to another song (I’d personally go for Abra but I think DWAS would be great too) show real pictures, videos and behind the scenes stuff of her from after the SuperBowl. The credits end on that infamous picture of her first headshot as a kid or a picture of her and her friends before she was famous.
