Now that Gaga finally addressed the issue, y'all are being awfully smug and judgemental towards those who criticized her for not doing so earlier. Why? She was being silent for quite some time, so I believe that all the fans who complained about it had every right to do so. I am glad she finally spoke about ICE, and no matter if the "backlash" made her do it or not, I am proud of every fan who remains critical and is not just a mindless follower (there's too many of those out there). People in positions of power or prestige, even Popstars, should use their range of influence to protect democracy at all cost. Gaga just did, so all is well... for now. Go ahead and hate this reply, I don't care.

I think what Katy did was really good.

Informing people that there's a January 30th deadline, there's a proposed $10 billion and as people you can call or email to your senator. She even provided a draft email. I believe that was the most effective way of using your social media to inform people about this issue. Not only bring awareness but also showing ways and telling that you as citizens can do something.

I believe when people want celebrities to speak up, that's what they mean. Using their platforms and reach for informing people.
