I don't understand why celebrities care so much if scalpers buy tickets. It's no skin off their nose, they get the money either way. Yes, they may fear their fans will get so fed up of all the tickets being snatched by them to the point where they just stop trying to get any at all but we know that isn't the case, fans stop at nothing to get tickets. You can put systems in place to mitigate it but making tickets from scalpers literally invalid is not the move. If it was purchased legally, the seller has every right to do what they want with their property and if someone wants to buy it, that's on them. It's such a weird and inaccurate statement to say things like "tickets are for fans only," "this is a fan only event" etc because scalpers don't go to the show, they sell tickets to fans who couldn't get tickets. Scalpers supply, fans buy. You're basically saying to your fans if scalpers buy up all the tickets, it's their fault for not getting in quickly enough and now they have no right to get tickets in any other way. Makes no sense. Until a system exists that can tell a fan from a scalper, it's not going to change.
