That's nice but I'll believe it when I see it. A full decade of being evil and disgusting cannot be undone with a 1 page essay.

For his health I hope this is sincere but as it's album release week for him I am wearing my skeptic hat.

"I am pouring my energy into positive, meaningful art: music, clothing, design, and other new ideas to help the world."

He still has a really inflated view of himself saying the part in bold, IMO.

I'll wish him well but..... bud how are you gonna clean up this mess you made? Where to begin? :usrs:

Anyways when all his enablers and sycophants are gonna apologize? It takes more than one person to sell literal nazi memorabilia, they permitted this, made profit, and they don’t have the mental health excuse. If he doesn’t fire everybody he was working with at the time I’m not believing this apology

Idk, the people I know with BPD and manic episodes have never become bigots because of their illness :Cautious:

Still perplexed as to how any team could have given this the green light & made it all the way from concept to real world product with a promotional campaign. I get that bad press can sometimes be good press, but this was a death sentence from the get go :saladga:

Seeing all these people online forgive him and giving him a chance, let’s also hope they give Azealia Banks the same grace if she ever apologises or puts out a statement. Yes Kanye West was called out and also somewhat cancelled for his actions but he also was aloud to thrive and still get opportunities regardless, where as black women don’t get that same luxury.

As an advocate for mental health, it would be wrong of me not to accept what seems like a thorough and sincere apology. I wish him healing and hope he makes a full and proper recovery.

It was always obvious he was having a manic episode. That doesn't mean we have to make him famous or like him again.

REALITY

I'm surprised by the reaction some of y'all have to this. It's good that he seems remorseful about what he's said and done, but one essay doesn't undo the years of damage he's caused—not just to the communities he's directly affected, but to an entire younger generation of boys who look up to people like him.

He can talk about his mental issues and bipolar disorder and how those things are explanations for his behavior, but it always rubs me the wrong way when people try to use that as the rationale for their disgusting and repulsive actions. The vast majority of people who are bipolar aren't nazis and Hitler sympathizers.

This statement is quite literally the bare minimum he can do to right his wrongs, but it's going to take much, much, much more than this to make up for the sh*t he's done. Maybe I'm heartless, but I frankly don't really believe in second chances when it comes to stuff like this. This wasn't just a simple mistake. This was systemic and habitual behavior.

Just in time to release his half-baked probably-AI'd album. No thanks. I've loved someone with bipolar disorder and he wasn't A ****ING NAZI.
